This isn't diabetic related but yesterday was a pretty tough day. I had to say good bye to my dog of 17 years, Sasha. Her and Kai weren't particularly close, in-fact, in her younger years she probably would have tried to kill him :nailbiting: she had a very strong prey drive. But as she progressed into her senior age she really mellowed out and they became good company to one another. This morning feels so weird because she isn't here to be part of our typical morning routine. Sleep well my sweet girl.

Anyways, this is day three of increase to 2.5 units.

I hope everyone has a calm and peaceful Monday. :bighug:

Maddie, I’m sorry. That is a wonderful picture of your fur babies. What a ripe age, 17, wow. A lot of history there, memories, and as you said - routine.

I hope that Kai and the recent great progress you have brought to his diabetes journey will help a little as you grieve for Sasha. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh (((Maddie))), I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved Sasha. What a sad day for your family. That’s such a wonderful photo of Kai and Sasha :bighug:

I hope you have a calm day with Kai today as you mourn your sweet Sasha.
Sending you hugs and support :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Staci, I appreciate it! Please hug miss Ivy for me. I hope you both have a calm day too :bighug:

Aww I’m sorry Maddie. Losing them is so hard, they’re a big part of our families.

Yes, it's never easy. Sasha was indeed a big part of our lives. We dragged her around everywhere. From the farm to the city when I moved off for college. I'm in my thirties now, so we spent half my lifetime together. It will take some time to adjust, but we will get there. Thank you for your condolences :bighug:

Oh no! Sorry for your loss, Maddie. How is Kai taking it?

:bighug::bighug::bighug:

He is doing okay. We noticed a rapid decline in her on Friday. But I think Kai knew way before us that she was already on her way out. For the past couple of mornings he had begun spending more time around her and her bed area in the living room, which is odd because he usually spends his morning time sunbathing in the dinning room where the sun directly shines in. I really think he knew something was up.
Thank you for your kind words :bighug:

I'm so sorry to read about Sasha. They are never here long enough. I hope she had a peaceful passage over the rainbow bridge ❤️ :rb_icon:❤️
I really love this photo of Kai and Sasha. He's definitely confused and purrrrrhaps looking for her. This could reflect on his numbers today as he was a rainbow kitty and his nbers were all over the place.
Please take care of yourself during this difficult time.
