Good evening,

Binie cooperated today and I could leave at the afternoon to see my family. :cat:

I like that her bg is so flat most of the time. I know we would love to see her rather in lower blues but I like that we are out of the drop-bounce-drop cycle at the moment. Don't know, what changed.

I'm still struggling with the concept of getting up at night to measure her bg. It is quite hard on me but I am also scared she has a drop and I don't notice. I am so happy she cooperates so well with the pokes. That makes this hard task a lot easier.

Hope everyone has a great time! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike and Binie,
I’m so glad that Binie stayed flat for you today so you could get out and see your family. I know that was so good for you to be able to do that and she cooperated so nicely.
I understand how hard it is to get up overnight to test her, especially when you haven’t been feeling well. I hope you are getting better and stronger.
So glad she’s being such a good girl about the poking. She must know it’s necessary and she’s handling it really well and you’re doing just great with her. You know just how to keep her calm.
You’ve both come such a long way this year!
Ivy and I are wishing you both all good things in the new year.
Sleep well.

I am glad you could go see your family!
Flat cycles are great. From there hopefully she will slide to flat blues and flat greens and you will get used to it. i can imagine how stressful it must be now that you don’t have the Libre to alarm you, but she is doing great, and you have to let go at some point, it would not be reasonable to keep testing all night. If you are so tired you get sick, she won’t be better for that.
I hope you have a good night, Heike! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Staci! The libre is really such a blessing and gives so much peace of mind. I am so happy Ivy can use it without problems. Sorry for whining so much about the nights, I know you sleep much less. This fd journey never gets boring, right? Hope you have a calm and almost boring day with sweet Ivy! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Thank you so much for encouraging me to let go a bit, Cecile! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Seems I am a control freak and it is not easy for me. My biggest fear is she gets hypo at night and I can't help her on my own. We don't have a 24hour facility near. It is more than an hour drive and I don't have a car in front of my door. That's my nightmare. But maybe this is less likely than I think, I don't know. Sometimes I just think it is easier to get up and test than to go through this. But I feel I can not do this forever without ruining my health. Hope you have a beautiful time with your children and family with lots of musik and laughter! I hope Bella doesn't use the situation to steal yummie food again. :)

I know, I was feeling so bad when I decided I could not keep testing all night, I felt guilty when I was reading that other cat parents hetre would stay up all night, I was afraid Bella would die because I was not good enough, but I realized that I was going to end up being very bad during the day as well if I did not sleep enough. As wendy was saying, try to look at what she does during the day and start from there. Feed her just before going to bed. She will be fine :bighug:
I hope you are feeling better!

Hi Heike -- I hope you had a wonderful holiday celebration! Re: worrying about a hypo, do you have an emergency kit ready in case you need it? Here's a link that explains:

I hope you can get some sleep. It is not easy when their numbers are unpredictable! I slept on the sofa most of last night, and it looks like I'm headed that way for tonight too. :(

Thank you so much Cecile. You describe exactely what is going on for me. I also feel guilty, I don't manage. I hope I learn to trust the process after some time. You comments help me a lot! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Karen! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Wow, you have been awake a lot the last two nights.... I have a hypo kit but one essential, a reachable 24 hour ER is not inside.... That's why I loved the libre so much. Looks like Chispa is a bit like Binie with patters that change a lot. Doesn't make things easier. I hope you can take a nap today. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
