Good evening,

what a day. Because I hoped to catch another blue I got up last night at +7 but it was yellow again. At +10 I got up again to feed before her fast and she puked some of it out again. This usually does not happen, so I was a little alarmed but not too much, as she acted normal.

I was quite surprised, when her AMPS was 205 in the morning. I stalled for half an hour to see if she is going up and she was 228, which was maybe influenced by the churrus I give for testing. I don't know if it was necessary or stupid to do this but she is usually not that low. I gave her breakfast and waited for another 15 minutes to make sure, she is not puking again. Than I gave the full dose. So we have been 45 minutes late and tonight I started to walk her back. Until +6 she had yellow numbers but higher than her AMPS.

I don't understand this pattern at all. Seems that tonight she is bouncing. I wouldn't mind a bit more sleep tonight so I am curious how her +2 will be.

I can't believe I poked her seven times today. And she cooperated without any problems. She was even a bit excited when I came with the testing stuff because that means churus. Seems she was feeling a bit better today. She even responded on my offer to play a bit. Still waiting for the results of the urine test. IDEXX promised to send them directly, as my vet is on holiday now.

Hope everyone has a great day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's nice that she has so many yellows now and just a few pinks (and I am ignoring the reds).
I love it that she likes the pokes! Bella waits where I test her when she wants to eat, she does not mind because she associates it with food (I feed her just after, or I give her a piece of grated cheese or boiled chicken. I keep Churus for nail trimming or brushing, she loves those! ;) ).
I hope the vomiting was just an isolated event. It's nice that they will send you the results, I hope they will be reassuring!

I think we’d all be excited :)
Actually she wonder what took you so long to figure out what she wanted. But is there any chance all the churus are affecting her total daily carbs (Binie cover your ears)

Actually they are not churus but a German brand. I found one taste, which is even low carb (4%). There are also higher carb ones, but I try to keep them for the moments she is low. But you are right I shouldn't overdo it. I already tried to give her freeze dried I powdered with some water. I need her to lick something, to keep her busy for a few seconds.....

Thank you for checking on us Cecile! :bighug::bighug::bighug:I also hope there is not vomiting any more. But it looks good. If I test Binie she does not want to wait for a reward afterwards, that does not work. She only believes in immediate gratification and wants churus while I am poking. :)
Unfortunately I am not so hopeful that the results are reassuring. The first result showed, that she has at least three different kind of bacteria in her urine. :( I want the test results so I know, which antibiotic to give her if she develops symptoms. Of course it will help, that her allover sugar goes lower. I hope you enjoy the time with your family!

I’m getting kind of excited about her numbers—considering all that’s going on the two of you are doing a fantastic job!

Thank you Colleen! I honestly don't know what to think about all this. Not seing blue numbers anymore but overall lower. Maybe that is better than the rollercoaster?

I just saw, that she opened up the wound on her breast again. :( It is really tiring to care for a sick cat. I hope the vet calls you soon! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, you and Binie are doing so well with testing. I’m so glad that you have developed a system that works for both of you. You get to test and she gets a reward. She loves licking something yummy.

I do hope you get the results of the As I know that will make you feel more in control of what’s going on if you have some knowledge.
I’m sorry to just read she is licking the area on her breast again. I wonder what causes her to go through phases of licking and then leaving it alone. I wish we could figure that out :(

Ivy and I send you lots of healing wishes. I hope you can get some rest tonight and both feel better in the morning :bighug::bighug::bighug:

You can sometimes get what is a scarf and barf, where the cat eats a bit too quickly then throws it back up. Don’t forget that all meters are allowed a 20% variance so the test from +7 to preshot then to where you retested 1/2 hour later are effectively the same. Time to hide Binie’s pogo stick :p

Hi Staci, thank you! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Yes, I was really sad to see that her skin opened up again. The fur did grow back in the last weeks but it seems that this is something, we just have to deal with. So sad we can not ask her.... Thank you for the healing wishes! We have another 40 minutes before the next test and then it is sleeping time. Even though I would love to see her better numbers I somehow hope that tonight I don't have to go up again. Please give sweet Ivy a kiss from me!

Thank you Christie! Might be it was something like scarf and barf, as she had a normal appetite today. And you are right! Maybe she was just flat last night.... Hope you have a great day with Maverick! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I wonder if she is stressed and licks this spot? Bella was doing that on her belly during COVID when we were all home, she licked so much that it was bald and red. She did it a few times.
I love that she can eat her Churu while you test her! Bella is a pig, she eats the pouch (the plastic pouch) and acts like a hyena eating something, noises and all. She looks very elegant when she is not eating, but not when she eats.
I hope whatever results you get will not be too bad, I remember about the resistant germs but you never know :bighug:

That makes good sense …I forgot

Maybe that is better than the rollercoaster?
I’m happier with less rollercoaster.

she texted back. Still waiting on the specialist but she ok’d a fat 3. His wound is less red so I hated making her squeeze me in. If I’m worried at all this weekend I will go to the ER (that hates me but oh well ) or see her next week. That may be better bc it will be just before they close for 5 or 6 days

Good luck with the fat 3! If it should be too much, you can always go back. So glad his wound is less red! Sounds like he is on the right track! Don't mind if vets may don't like you. My friend said to me once: "You go there to help Binie, not to make new friends." And I am sure they don't hate you but may feel intimidated by your good questions. They prefer people who take what they say and keep their mouth shut. It's not against you. They are stressed. I hope you don't need the ER and Methos continues to heal. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile, I also sometimes wonder, if stress is at least involved. But there is something else beneath the skin, that is why she had surgery and one still can feel this strange tissue. Maybe she doesn't mind so much if she is happy and if there is more stress, she acts like this?

I love how Bella eats. :):):) I saw it on the video you have been so kind to make for us. She enjoys life and food. That is so nice.

Hope you enjoy your weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
