Jude is 169 this morning. Last night he was 178 at the PMPS, and I gave him the regular dosage (2.75). He stayed in the greens most of the night, at one time dipping into the 60s. This worried me, as he was continuing to drop, so I gave him some hc food. Dropping below 90 earned him a .25 dose reduction today. I'm a bit worried about shooting him at 169. I'm waiting 15 mins. and will test again to see which direction he's headed in. If he's going up, should I shoot the full dose?

EDA: I have hc food, but only about 15 testing strips, as I burned through so many of them last night. I have an order of strips coming in today, but I'm not sure what time.

He might head up in a bounce from that long stretch of greens last night.

The night before last, you shot a 100 two hours after the first 100 and his numbers went up. :-)

He just tested at 186, so he's going up. Since he typically stays higher in the a.m., I'm going ahead and shooting, and will monitor. If I run out of test strips, I'll go purchase a human meter.

Please, please...let it be less exciting! I'm tired. And Jude is too. Poor fella kept looking at me in the early morning hours when I would get up to test him last night like, why mommy? But, yes, I will definitely check him a couple of times tonight before I go to bed. He's clearly not textbook, so I've got to keep an eye on him.

Not necessary for a couple of times :bighug:, just one, unless of course before bed test shows he’s up to some shenanigans. You’d be looking for a good drop from preshot, I’d still flat or higher, then you can take a pokie break and get some sleep ;). Last night he dropped because bounce was breaking.

I read on the site today about bouncing, and I'm still not 100% sure what happens with the bounce and breaking a bounce. The most comforting thing I read is that it's normal. I'll just be glad if Jude can get to some stable, consistent lower numbers where he's not all over the place. Thanks again, Christie--have a good evening!

They’re often hard to spot and sometimes only until after one breaks :p but I tend to pay closer attention to cycles where they start high and come down to next preshot like what happened yesterday. Sending extra bum pats for Jude, have a great evening, Mary :)

The bouncing is totally normal and highly annoying :D. I hope you can catch up on some sleep!
