Hello,

Butch surfed yellow last night and slid into the greens today. I'm hoping tonight he surfs calmly.

I have been feeling sick with a respiratory infection and had an x-ray done yesterday. I have walking pneumonia, so I am doing my best to manage Butch. When Butch dived at +3.5, I fed him 20% with little karo because I am not able to monitor him the way I usually do. I can't wait for this to past. He has been staying by my side, I think he knows!

AMPS meal FF 4% w/tilapia for shoot, +1, +2 snack 3%, +3.5 20% w/karo, +5 20% tsp

Wishing everyone a nice evening and safe surfing!

Oh Madeline, I’m sorry you are so sick right now please take good care of yourself.
How are they treating it?

My husband had pneumonia about 10 years ago and landed in the hospital for about 4-5 days (was in his 50s at the time). It was very scary.
His oxygen level was very low and that’s so dangerous.
I had to force him to go to urgent care where they diagnosed him with an X-ray and sent him to the hospital.

I’m only telling you so you pay close attention to everything going on.

So please don’t mess around with your condition. Pay attention to all the signs and do what they tell you.
Can you get help with Butch while you recover?
Wishing you and Butch an easy time and I hope you have a fast recovery :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Madeline,

so sorry to hear you have pneumonia. I had it as a kid and I know I felt really, really sick. I agree with Staci, please take it serious and try to get as much rest as possible and some help to deal with Butch. Butch seems to do very fine, his numbers are great! You are doing such a great job with Butch and now you have to take care of yourself too!

Hope Butch lets you sleep tonight and you get a good rest. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci. Thank you so much for checking in and sharing. I really appreciate it.
I went to urgent care too and they did the x-ray. I was told if it gets worse to go to the hospital. I am being treated with two antibiotic for 7 days, another medication (pill form) for the coughing, and a steroid pill for 5 days. I'll go back on the 13th to have another x-ray.

Monday night the coughing was the worse. I needed to sleep on my back somewhat elevated. The coughing has gotten less but I still feel heaviness on my chest.

I have some help with Butch but only on certain days. Butch doesn't take to everyone and not everyone is as attentive as I am. This week the help was little less.
Today Butch bounced to the moon, AMPS Libre Hi :(. I really hope I can figure this out for him. I don't like these real lows and big highs. I am sure he doesn't either.

Wishing you and Ivy a nice relaxing night and safe surf!

Oh I’m so sorry it’s been so rough. And it would be good if you had more help with Butch while you’re bit feeling well.
Do you have one of those oxygen meters (it goes on your finger) so you can monitor yourself?
That’s a helpful tool to have. (I think I got one at CVS when we needed it.

Butch is definitely bouncing from those greens yesterday. Hope he gently comes back down.

Please take care of yourself!! Hugs to you and Butch :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Binie.
Thank you so much for checking in and for sharing. I really appreciate it.
I am making sure that I do what I was told and getting as much rest as possible. I have some help with Butch, but it is not consistent. Butch doesn't take to everyone and not everyone is as attentive.

Thank you, I am doing my best for Butch but I always thinking I should do more. Today, he bounced to the moon, he was Hi on the Libre at his AMPS and remained in the 300s with maybe few yellows. I am hoping he breaks this bounce gently and that I can really figure out how to keep him steadier.

Wishing you and Binie a calm relaxing night and safe surfing, Binie!

Thank you, Staci. :bighug:

Oh, my head is in such a fog, my next x-ray is on the 20th.

I know of the oxygen meters that you are referring to. I did have one that I used for my dad. I'll have to check if I still have it. If not, I'll pick another one up.

Hi Madeline,

you are doing such a great job with Butch! We don't choose these bounces, isn't it? I know it is painful to see. I also HATE to see this HI on the reader. Glad to see he had a yellow start in the day!

I know it is difficult to find help. Butch will be so used to your care and trusts you so much. And I think it is easier for us to see the little changes and red flags in our kittys. So it is hard to hand it over to someone.

I hope you recover well and have a nice day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
