After her reduction from 2.75 to 2.5, Bell bounced mildly for 3 cycles. Now, on her 4th cycle, she is again below 50. I wanted to check in to see if I should reduce again.

I asked something similar here and @Bandit's Mom and @Wendy&Neko suggested waiting until the 4th cycle to reduce again after a reduction. Just wanted to check in again and make sure that applies to this scenario where she is coming off a bounce. My gut tells me that she would still do ok on the 2.5 (she's failed the 2.25 reduction twice now), but I don't want to cause an unsafe situation for Bell. I'm off the rest of the week, so I'll be able to monitor her closely, if that influences a decision.

Thank you kind advisors :)

Just got a +7.5 @ 61, so I think I caught the nadir and am expecting her to bounce from here (I'll still monitor to confirm) judging by how quickly she dropped this morning.

@Heike & BInie hahaha, Blair prefers to scratch the walls, so I hear you there! They both do love that scratcher, though, and it is about time for a new one. Bell has the sharpest claws of any cat I know... Thank you so much for the well wishes. Been keeping you and Binie in my thoughts :bighug:

There is nothing like waking up from the sound of wallpaper getting scratched off, isn't it? :)

Well she’s staying pretty flat and not bouncing yet, so it shows what I know :).

I’m 2 hours from shot time, if anyone comfortable giving dosage advice sees this in the next two hours.

Hi Seth, I see Bell gave you a 47 today
I’m confused, did Wendy or Bhooma suggest you reduce after 4 cycles if needed? I wasn’t sure what you were saying above.
I know you need to decide what to do for her next shot.

Are you planning on reducing or holding?

What did you feed at that 47? It can be useful to document extra feedings/carbs given so you can see what works and what doesn't. I'd like to know how much you had to work to get her numbers up.

It takes 4-6 cycles for the larger depot to go away.

At the +7 and +7.5 I gave around 1/10 of a small LC fancy feast can. At the +8 and +9 I gave about the same amount. At the +10 I gave ~1/5 can, which is the last I fed. All of the same LC food.

If you look at 9/11 on my spreadsheet, Bell had a <50 on the second cycle after a reduction. I had asked Wendy and Bhooma if I should reduce yet again, and they told me to hold off til the fourth cycle after a reduction in order for a lime to warrant another reduction.

@Wendy&Neko - my gut feeling (which is often wrong :)) is that she is dropping low after a bounce and that I'd be ok to keep the 2.5. I 100% trust your judgement, I'm just mentioning that as an indication of my comfort level here. I've had many similar cycles where we hit a 50 instead of the 47 and I held the dose and she ended up bouncing.

Her PMBG was a 105. I think she's bouncing now. I'm going to hold the 2.5 unless someone screams "NOOOOOOOOO" in the next few minutes :)

Wendy, Heike, Staci, thank you for looking out for Bell!

Not sure if she's bouncing, or the food at +10 caused loss of duration. The next test will tell the tale.

Oh, is feeding at +10 not recommended? With Bell's bilious vomiting syndrome, I have to feed at least every 2-3 hours or else she starts throwing up bile and possibly her next meal. I even wake up at 5 am to try to make sure she eats at +10 but not after that in order to follow the "no food 2 hours before shot" rule.

Maybe I should put that in my signature? All my data is based off of feeding at least 2-3 hours for all 24 hours.

I understand why you have to feed more often and later in the cycle. Just that it can cause loss of duration. Just make it as low a carb as you can.
