Hello everyone,

Buch stood last night in the yellows with AMPS 195. He just dropped +1 54 and I fed him tsp 20% with this dive at the +1, I will have to continue to feed, +1.75 tsp 20% with drop karo, +2 20% w/karo, every 1/2 hr tsp 20% till +3.5 (finished can FF 20%).

I am nervous so early in the cycle. He has a Libre sensor. I am not able to test with the handheld, but the handheld is usually 15 point higher than the sensor when I have tested before in the low numbers.

Wishing everyone a nice day and safe surfing!

Hi Madeline, wishing Butch a safe surf today. I think he and Ivy are both working the greens today.:D
She’s having a similar kind of cycle and I’m feeding every half hour or so to keep her surfing along and not dropping too low.

Hope you both have a safe day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

As you know the Libre can read a lot lower. I’d check again to see if it’s gone up and how much.
Hi Elise.
The Contour Next handheld that I have used in the past to test Butch when he has been this low on the Libre usually is about 15 points higher than the Libre sensor.
I have been feeding Butch about every 20 minutes to 1/2 hr 20% hc with karo at +1 and +2. Last tsp of just 20% was at +3.5 (he finished FF 20% can).

If I didn't feed as much. I believe he would have continued to drop. Did he earn a reduction?

I find that if in the next cycle if he drops like this that the 20% doesn't work as well. Not sure why

ex: cycle 1 12% works to keep stable
cycle 2 12% won't work, I need to use 20% to keep stable
cycle 3 20% won't work, I need to use 20% with karo to keep stable

Hi Staci. Thank you for the well wishes.
Yes, they are! :D:D I am also feeding every half hour too with giving some karo twice with 20% to keep Butch surfing along and not dropping. My last feed was +3.5 BG 53 Libre. My handheld usually is about 15 points higher than the Libre sensor when he is this low on the Libre.
Hoping tonight is calm. It is so hard at night!

Wishing you and Ivy a safe day too! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I agree Madeline. I really don’t enjoy the night cycles when they are this low :banghead:
I have the same issue as you that my normal 12% won’t hold Ivy up if she’s really in a deep and low cycle.
I’m about an hour from feed and shoot time and I’ve been feeding her all day to keep her up.

I hope we both have a more calm night ahead :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Madeline,

what a ride today! :D:D:D I can imagine this early drop to 45 was really scary. You managed so well to keep him safe but not shoot him up! I think seing a 45, I would have bathed Binie in karoo out of anxiety and would have shooted her up to Mars. :nailbiting:

I hope Butch goes up for shot time and you have a calm night with a bounce high enough to let you sleep but not too high. All the best! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike. Thank you :bighug:
Believe me I wanted to bathed Butch in the Karo :nailbiting: He didn't go up until +8. I fed him a whole can FF 20% between +1 till +3.5.
Yes, hoping for that bounce to get some rest but like you said not to high ;)
Thank you so much for the well wishes :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hoping you and Binie have a nice night too! :bighug::cat:

It's scary when the higher carbs won't hold them up. That really makes me worry that I won't be able to help him.

Will you shoot Ivy's normal dosage tonight?

Hoping we both have a calm night too :bighug::bighug::bighug:
