Just tested my kitty Mia preshoot and her BG is 6.1 I just switched over to Lantus this morning so she has had just her first shot of Lantus so far.

Before that she has been on Caninsulin.

I will tag an expert on the insulin you are using, but I do not believe his Bg is something to be alarmed with, then again I am not an expert on Lantus, stay calm while they contact you, your anxiety will reflect on your Mia:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

Mia is doing good, why did you not give the PMPS shot?
Maria—today was Mia’s first day on Lantus and she had already dropped into greens with a low-blue PMPS. With no track record for how Mia responds to Lantus and an already low 0.25u starting dose, it was safer to skip. Also, Mia had been on a different (harsher) insulin that had been dropping her into lime green numbers despite dose reductions and there was a recent change to low-carb canned food (which we know can significantly lower BG). Safety first.

Oops I see sorry won’t happen again I was just curious on why no shot?

Hi Monica, on your spreadsheet where you still have caninsulin can you put after that Lantus as of 10-25-24
It would also be helpful if you can put a blank line above the date on your spreadsheet and put Lantus Now and highlight it any color you want to do it stands out :bighug::cat:
If you tap on Tyler's SS and tap on 2020 up top you will see what I mean about the blank line under the date 12-29-2019

@Diane Tyler's Mom GA Hi! I had skipped a line after the 24th and added in the first column "switch to Lantus" and marked in yellow. Should I do it a different way?

@MonicaT
On your spreadsheet where it says current insulin Caninsulin up top can you add Lantus 10-25-24 on both the US tab and the World Tab :cat:
If you can't fit it just delete the word current and just do
Insulin Caninsulin/Lantus as of 10-25-24
Have you picked a dosing method yet for Lantus
You can read about it here and when you decide can you add thT to your signature and spreadsheet up top
https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/thr...-low-go-slow-slgs-tight-regulation-tr.210110/

Can you add to your signature what you are feeding Mia, is it lc wet (low carb) or combo meaning lc/drif you are feeding any dry food at all you would have to follow the SLGS method

@Diane Tyler's Mom GA Oh! Didn't even realize that the US was filled out too as I never checked it.

Not sure what you mean by dosing method for Lantus? I have just followed advice I have received on my thread from the experts in the forum that have been based on Mia's numbers and SS

I would still read the 2 dosing methods ,I gave you the link above , They were giving you advice when Mia was on Caninsulin

Can you add
Current Insulin: Lantus 25.10.24 on the US tab also

Monica I think it would be a good idea if you started posting on our Lantus Board , there are a lot more eyes on that board
We have a certain way to post there, you would put the
Date Mia AMPS # and any additional tests after that, and you can continue with her PMPS numbers
Try and post a new thread every day and link your previous days post to your new one in case members have to go back and look at it

To link your previous posts
Your previous days post will always be in the URL all the way up top ignore where it says insert or cancel I'm just trying to show you where your previous days post will be
Just ignore where it says insert and cancel
Just copy your previous days post and then paste it when you do your new post new thread

Like I said
your previous days post it will be the one all the way up top, above the pic of that cat and the picture of a bottle of insulin there, let me know if you understand it

Here is the Lantus Board
https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/forums/lantus-levemir-biosimilars.9/
So when you post tomorrow to the right it says post new thread

You can just introduce yourself and Mia and say it's your first time posting on the Lantus Board and then link the thread the thread you gave up top

@Diane Tyler's Mom GA I got plenty of great advice on Lantus too before switching, didn't want to switch until I was sure on dosing etc. as I also switched syringes, which they helped out with ☺️

Signature and US SS is updated
