10/24/24

Good morning.

Pretty much the same pattern, although a bit better last night.
I'm beginning to wonder if her dental issue is making it more difficult to regulate.

Hope everyone has a nice Friday!
Good morning, Kit,
You may be right about the dental situation now that you know she needs one. That could make a big difference and will only know once that is done. Hoping you should hear back maybe even today about the labs. Keeping everything crossed for good results:cat:
Hope you and Mikan have a nice day and she slides down to the beach today :D
Have a great upcoming weekend.

Looking back at her SS it almost seems like she had more blues and greens with less insulin but perhaps her teeth have made it so she needs more and more insulin? It's such a guessing game, isn't it? Hoping everything comes back today so you don't have to wait the weekend and all is good so you can get that dental scheduled. Happy Friday!

Hi Staci,
Yeah, I'm hoping to get Mikan treated as soon as we can! But likely we hear back sometime next week. I'm hesitant to change her dose until that gets done at this point.
As long as Mikan's mostly yellow-blue, I think I want to keep her stable enough for now.
I strained my neck somehow and can't turn to the left  I think I was so tight this week and when this happens my old injury from decades ago on the left upper back/shoulder gets revived :rolleyes::rolleyes:
I hope all kitties cooperate today so I don't have to pick them up too much!

Happy Friday and hope you and Ivy have a great day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heather,'
Exactly my sentiment! Maybe there have been inflammation that interfered with response to insulin?
Hopefully, we can get the dental done soon to know!
Hope you and Shooter have a great Friday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Kit, that sounds like a good plan. Hoping Mikan can get a dental soon so she can feel her best
I’m sorry to hear you hurt your neck. That really sucks. Is there anything that helps give you some relief like heat or cold? Or maybe a hot bath with epsom salts in a soaking tub?
I hope the kitties behave and need no extra special lifting so you can recover. Take good care of yourself, Kit!!

Thanks for the kind words, Staci.
I took some Ibuprofen and did some stretches. It is super tight, so hopefully, as the day goes on, it will loosen up a bit and ease the pain.
I don't usually think much about neck muscles but it's amazing to see how much they are involved in so many things. It does not hurt if I don't move, but certain movements just take my breath away with pain. I tried to gain some sympathy from the kitties. So far, no luck
But this isn't a disease or something progressive - I just have to nurse it for a few days. Hopefully, it will be all better by the end of the weekend!
:bighug:

I'm sorry to see Mikan is having issues with her teeth and you are dealing with pain as well- hope you can get that sorted soon and she surfs safely this weekend. Sending hugs, and hope you BOTH feel better soon!!:bighug:

Hi Kit, neck pain is the worst, that happened to me once and the only thing that helped was putting an ice pack on it, maybe try that. That's a good plan to get her labs back first and then plan the dental.
I see she's blue already, I hope she surf's safely today for you :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Thanks Christine.
Yeah, poor Mikan. But this may explain her needing more and more insulin without really showing any consistent response. Hope we can get this taken care of without complication and see how she does.
My neck is so sore  I don't usually think about my neck - today, that's all I think about :rolleyes::rolleyes:
But it will heal. I keep telling myself that! :p
Hope you and Jack are having a nice day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Diane,
I agree! I wish I didn't have a neck! :p
Thanks for the tip. I'll try an ice pack and see if it helps - it's just certain movements that give me sharp pain, but I'm sure it's pretty inflamed.
Happy Friday and have a great day, Diane! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sorry about your neck. I hope it gets better soon. I hope Mikan comes back down tonight. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thanks Carla.
My left side has always been a problem since the car accident where an overloaded dump truck rammed into a car behind me and then veered left to scrape the entire left side of my car
That side tends to tighten when I'm under stress. I was nervous about the new mobile vet thing, and I must have twisted my neck wrong when everything else around it was so tight. It's very uncomfortable now but I know it'll get better. And Mikan thankfully came down.
Hope you are enjoying your Friday evening! :bighug:
