Hi all! Sorry to trouble with a rather random question - I have a kitty who has been in remission since end-Dec 2023, fed on a mix of wet food (Feline Natural and Fancy Feast pates) and air-dried food (Ziwi Peak). Unfortunately he also has EPI, which necessitates feeding him a pill before every meal for the rest of his life.

I've recently been looking for treats to give him after pilling, as he doesn't seem to care much for freeze-dried treats (he will eat them but they are not as high value). I came across these treats (linked below) and am wondering if these would be safe for him.

https://catsmart.com.sg/treats/ciao...et-dried-bonito-chicken-soup-squid-flavor-25g

Ingredient list (copied from the page): Chicken Fillet, Tuna, Chicken Oil, Dried Bonito, Dried Bonito Extract, Yeast Extract Powder, Scallop Extract, Squid Extract, Bonito Extract Powder, Vitamin E, Green Tea Powder, Colouring Agents.

Thanks so much for your guidance!

Looks like they should be low carb. They look similar to Churu, which we know are low carb.

Thank you! I will try them in very low quantities and see if he has any abnormal signs (e.g. increase of water intake) after.

Hi,

Curious about this--we wrote to Inaba and this is what they said...the 15-20% DMB worried us so we no longer use Churu.

the carbohydrate content should be roughly 2.0 - 2.5% as fed and roughly 15-20% via DMB.
