10/11 Mai AMPS 457, +2 452, +4 375, +8.5 300, PMPS 297

He might clear the bounce tonight (going by the lower PMPS) so I would wait till tomorrow morning to make that call.

Sounds good. I did just give him 5.25 at 2150.

By the way, really really really appreciate the Lantus Pen suggestion. I just got one today for $23.5!!!! And I don't have to worry about it going bad / etc ever again.

For reference I was paying $300+ for a bottle of Lantus from Chewy and throwing it away every 30 days...his food and insulin literally cost more than mine at that time lol.

Wow! You don't need to throw away insulin after a month as long as it is stored properly. I've used pens to the last drop - they usually lasted me 2-3 months since Bandit was on half the dose Mai is at.
You want to keep the insulin in the fridge but not in the fridge door - greater chance of it going bad due to frequent exposure to higher temperature as well as movement.

I'm curious to see if Mai does what he normally does when clearing a bounce - save all the action for the second half of the cycle.

That is one of my frustrations with my vet. I was under the impression that Lantus work for cats for 3 months, but every time I tell him that the Lantus was opened a month ago, he makes it sound like until I take care of that problem, there is nothing else we can do here.

Me too. Honestly I am getting a bit worried, do you think his current level make him feel sick / bad? Do you think he is still on a improving trend?

He was 330 at +2 by the way.

Give it time. You've just made some big changes to this diet, dosing protocol and starting home testing. I know it's very hard to see them in higher numbers. It's very tough to be patient at such times.

How about a nap and a test at +6?

I will try my best. Hopefully it will be worth it switching him to LC food.

Thank you for trying to take care of me as well. But if I wake up at 350, I will definitely not be able to fall sleep again tonight haha.

LOL. Then how about you test now and feed him and get a test later in the cycle? Like +10?
Set up the autofeeder for food at +6 and +8

Just got 299 at +4. I have set up his feeder at +6 and +8. Honestly I can stay up and do the +6 if that data point may help us getting him more under control.

Also ketone just tested and negative.

He seems to be quite flat. Please don't stay up. Get a test at +10 and feed if he is dropping hard.
