Hello everyone :)

Since August Fistuk was a downwards trend. We're now at cycle 30 on 1.5U.

He's beginning to show more blues. He's had a couple of visitation to the 50's, one day he really blew a kiss to the lime zone. Which is why I held the dose and didn't feel comfortable with an increase.

Would appreciate advice on the dose.
@Wendy&Neko @tiffmaxee @Angela & Cleo

I feel much better knowing that he's not scraping the lime zone when I'm out at work but I don't like him having so many blues. Especially since he was doing so well with 1.75U.

He had one lime visit on 1.75 and I decided not to wait for three limes because he was on a trend on going downward and I prioritised safety. But I think it's been enough time with 1.5U to make a dose decision.

We started giving him green lipped mussle powder for his joints. It says that it takes 4-8 weeks to see a difference so I'm wearing my patience pants ;)

He's had some more upper respiration congestion. Still haven't found something new to try. Put a hold on the consultation for mushrooms bc of money and also bc she told me that cats normally don't like it so I'm not feeling confident to have a trial and error at the moment.

I had to train him to be with us on the bed again. He's not sleeping with us anymore but I like him to spend time with us here and there. Often I'd bring him to bed and he'd leave after a short while. But looks like he's beginning to remember the fun of being in bed next to me.

I'm with a bad back at home. Had an unpleasant spasm on Monday and am hoping that PT on Saturday will make a difference to my pain and stiffness.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Wishing you an utterly boring day :bighug:

Hi Shelly!
Thanks for the update! I'm sorry to hear about your back. I hope PT will help settle it down soon!

It is so sweet that Fistuk enjoys being on the bed, even just for a while, with you again! Hahaha, he is savoring butter! So cute.

As for the dosing, I'm no expert, and I'm sure others will chime in soon. He does get down to 60s fairly regularly - I know Staci does a fat dose - a tad extra to what you have. Maybe she can comment on that @Staci & Ivy
I hope you will find a good option for Fistuk and smooth out his BGs.

Wishing you a lovely day, Shelly! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, I’m sorry you hurt your back. I hope the PT will help. In the meantime, it looks like Fistuk is taking good care of you with lots of love and purrs:bighug:

I agree with what Kit mentioned. Why not try a fat dose and see if that does what you need. Maybe he needs just in between the two doses.
I use a calipers so it makes it a little easier than just eyeballing it. I think you have nothing to lose since you’re not comfortable going up a full .25 u dose.

Hope you are all doing well otherwise. Hugs to you and your sweet boys!

Hi Kie :)
I'm looking forward to the PT appointment like for breath. I've had a hernia many years ago but I have't suffered like that from my back since.

Fistuk is really cute the way he cherishes his butter treats.

I'll try the fat dose but I don't have a caliber so I'll have to eyeball it.

I hope that you and Mikan are having a good day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci :)
Fistuk is the best healer :joyful:

I use @cecile & bella's printed roller. I don't have a caliper so I'll have to gestimate. I tried one to add a line in-between the doses on the PDF but it's probably possible only on a more sophisticated program since the line was so think and I couldn't have options to have it thiner so the in between dose line was not clear.

Somehow I never got into the caliper think. I should look into it again.

Hope you and Ivy are doing well :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly. I am glad to read Fistuk is doing well, his numbers look very good. I am no expert but I realized that even if a dose took them to limes a few months or weeks ago, that does not mean it will again. I think I would try to increase in his case, he has good numbers but still lots of blues. Or try a fat dose as Staci suggested. Or wait and see what the experts think (probably the best idea ;-) ).
Sorry about your back, I hope the PT will help.
He is so cute with his butter. Bella approves his choice of snacks.

Hi Shelly, so happy to see you here, but sorry to hear you hurt your back. I hope the PT and some rest and Fistuk love have you feeling better soon. I don't have any dose advice, will leave that to the experienced members, but hope you find the dose that works for him soon. I'm so glad he is spending at least some time in bed with you. He is so cute, I love the butter treat picture---my herd likes butter too. Sending hugs to you all! :bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile :)
Fistuk's number have been rather great. I think you're right and he might not go low again. And since I'm home with my back for now I might give it a go

Hi Shelly , back pain can be the worst, I hope the PT on Saturday will help. The only thing that seems to help my back when it's hurting is ice packs .
Fistuk looks so adorable enjoying the butter .
Feel better Shelly :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:
Hi Diane :)
Cools packs are great when there's inflammation. I haven't done any this time but I might. Thanks for the reminder!
I adore seeing him relish his butter :bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's nice to be back here. Need to get sick in order to have more free time :p Well I got this, I'm sure, because the last few months have been just too stressful.
Fistuk graced me with his presence all day but after supper he went back to his throne :p
Your herd have a good taste for treats. I hope everony'e well :bighug::bighug::bighug:

We tend to look at how a cat is doing in the last two weeks. Anything before that (like the limes) are ancient history. So look at what his dose is doing lately for him. Do you like the overall look? Do his nadirs have a bit of room to come down and still be safe.

You are home (sorry about the back, that's the worst!), the weekend is coming up. Is this the time to try an increase? Can you monitor?

With those answers in mind, what do you think you should do?

Oh, he is certainly the king....he looks so happy in his basket. It's quite cold here today, and I'm jealous of how warm and snuggly he looks!

Hi Shelly,

greenlip mussel powder helped Binie a lot with her backpain - she has spondylosis. For the dosing: In Germany we use paper rulers you can print out. Very easy. I learned in this forum that Americans don't use them because they are all for A4 paper which is not common in the US. But maybe in Switzerland? If you want to give it a try, I can send you a pdf.

Hope you find the right dose for Fistuk and hopefully your back gets better soon!

I send you a hug! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike :)
I'm happy to hear that green lipped mussel helped Binie. I think I see a slight change. he's more comfortable jumping on the bed. After a lot of cheering on....

Pls do send me the PDF. I wonder if it^s the same one I have but I'd like to see :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly,

do you know how I can send a PDF here? If I try to upload a file it says I have no permission. If is not working here, you can give me your e-mailadress.

So sweet to see Fistuk with his butter! :bighug::kiss::bighug:
