Good evening,

first day of the increase. Binie was high all day. Hopefully just some ndw.

This morning she was eating with a good appetite to my surprise. Tonight it was a struggle again. Usually she seems to feel better in the mornings than in the evenings.

Again she was sleepy and not really interesting. Today I was standing in the hallway, chatting with my neighbor and the door was open. Usually she would come in no time to see what is going on. Today she just stayed in her catbed and was not interested. :(

Tomorrow morning we have half-time with the Chloramphenicol. I hope the next week passes quickly.

Hope everyone has a nice saturday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, wishing you both very good luck with the increased Dose for Binie. I hope it works well and she feels great as a result. I’m wishing you a very safe surf on this dose.

I’m sorry to hear that she was not interested in joining the conversation with your neighbor today. I know that Ivy has become much less interested in anyone who comes in the house over the past few years also. She used to hang around if someone she liked was here but now she doesn’t even venture to find out who’s in the house visiting. So maybe it’s age, maybe it’s that they don’t feel great. I’m not really sure, but they’re both old ladies :(

I hope The next week goes quickly on the medication and hoping it does what it’s supposed to and she feels OK and you both get through the week. Just hoping she keeps her appetite up and eats for you.

I hope you both have a relaxing night and are enjoying the weekend:kiss::bighug::kiss:

Hi Staci,

thank you so much for sharing your experience with Ivy! Binie is my first cat so sometimes for me it is hard to decide if her behaviour is due to age or due to being unwell. And at the moment, as I am so worried, I may tend to misinterpret things.

I hope you have a great day and enjoy your weekend! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

I hope Binie perks up soon. It may be a combination of her age, her illness, and the antibiotics —it’s so hard when we can’t tell what they are feeling. Hugs to you and chin scratches for Binie

Hi Colleen,

thank you so much for the hugs and Binie says thank you for the chin scratches! How can she be so old now? Feels like yesterday, she was this energetic and curious cat, rooming through the neighborhood. Somehow it is quite cruel we fall in love with these creatures, who age so much faster than we do.

I hope you and the boys are o.k.?

Hope you have a nice day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending love Binie’s way! I really hope she gets her appetite back. It’s very hard when they don’t eat :(

Thank you so much Seth! Yes, not eating is really someting which worrys me. And I can't syringe feed her. :( Here nothing can be done against her will. Thank god so far she is still eating, even though with no great appetite. If it stays like that, I can manage.

Hope you have a relaxed day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, I understand what you mean. Since every cat is different, I think it’s hard to “know” what is going on.
Ivy is my 3rd cat and some things I just know. And others I have no idea what’s going on.
I’ve had a ckd cat but never diabetic or hyperthyroid or IBD. So this is all new to me and I don’t feel I have the best vet relationships to lean on. That makes it super difficult.

It’s good we have a great community to help each other.
I do know you are doing a wonderful job with Binie :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,

I am always so happy you are sharing your deep experience and I know you look into each and every detail with so much care. I am also so, so happy I have you and all the other fdmb folks in my back. I would be totally lost without it. :bighug::kiss::bighug:
