Good morning.
A high bounce in the AM cycle and a bluish flat in the PC cycle yesterday.
Mikan starts in the high blue this morning. Let's see if she can get down to dark green!

DH continues to test positive but the positive line is getting much fainter. Good sign? I'm negative again this morning. DH has no symptoms - good news but because he feels normal, he wants to talk, move around and do things :rolleyes: It's like a giant virus cell is moving around in the house. Harder to contain :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Unfortunately, our friend's wife, whose health is very fragile, got COVID from her husband. She's taking Paxlovid. I hope she can get through this without getting into much trouble.

Glad you're hubby is feeling better. I'm not sure if you live in the states or not, but the CDC did a revision March 1, 2024 -

"People who test positive for Covid-19 no longer need to routinely stay away from others for at least five days, according to new guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued Friday. The change ends a strategy from earlier in the pandemic that experts said has been important to controlling the spread of the infection.

The agency says it’s updating its recommendations for Covid-19 to bring them in line with its advice for other kinds of respiratory infections, including influenza and RSV. Offering a single set of unified guidance will make people more likely to follow it, agency experts said in a news briefing Friday.

Namely, the CDC now says people who have Covid-19 should stay home until they’ve been fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours and their symptoms have been improving for 24 hours."

I’m so glad you are staying healthy and DH (aka the giant virus cell :p) is feeling better.
Maybe you can walk around with a yardstick at all times to ward him off. (Stay back, DH) :joyful:

Remember that 6’ rule and all those markings all over the stores to keep people away from each other back in 2020? You could put that all over your house to remind him :rolleyes:

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend who got it from her husband. I’m sure it’s much harder since she’s already fragile. I hope she’s ok and the paxlovid helps her to recover quickly.

Let’s see what Mikan has up her paw today. Hopefully she will have a gentle slide down back to low blues and dark greens!! :cool::D

Thanks Heather for the information! Yes we live in Salt Lake City and I am aware of the new CDC guidelines. But I'm not telling DH about it :p
I found it a bit of a contradiction; I read about antigen test showing even a faint positive line without symptoms means that a person has quite a bit of viral load, and is most likely contagious.
If seems to me that contagious people should stay away from others... I'm even wondering if this change has led to the big surge in the cases this summer....
I'm a total chicken when it comes to this kind of thing - and of all things, I don't want Mikan getting it. So the commander in chief in this household (that's me, babe!) keeps the state of emergency until DH tests negative ;)
I do think the end is near ;) Can't wait to have a virus free house!

Hi Staci,
I'm gonna tell him to do the yard work! That's perfect. He can move around outdoors without a mask and maybe gets disinfected by the UV light :p
I have a feeling that he'll test negative today or tomorrow at the latest. Then, the waiting game for a few days to make sure that I don't get it.
I'm so worried about the wife of our friend. In the past, she had serious scares, almost died from sepsis. Paxlovid is supposed to prevent a serious illness, so maybe that'll keep her home and well.
What a nasty bug. I wish they would come out of ways to eradicate it soon!

So far, Mikan's mellow blue - I would be very happy if she could continue this path and get down to low blue this morning! High dark green would be, of course better!

All these things going on make one feel grateful for little things, like sunshine, flowers, birds...

Omg, Kit, I’m exactly of the same mind.
While I am aware of the relaxed restrictions by the CDC, they don’t fly in my house if you enter and have COVID.
If my DH shows up again with it, he’s going right to quarantine in my house.
Off to the spare bedroom you go buddy. And don’t touch Ivy, she’s immune compromised.
And yes, wear a mask around the rest of us.
I’m a tough commander in chief of all diseases in my house, too :rolleyes:

I think we just have to exercise good common sense, which works for us.
People differ in their sensitivity and tolerance for these things. We have ours and we have to run our household based upon what we think is best.

I am very worried about the vulnerable friend - I really hope Paxlovid works for her. Goodness knows she's already gone through so much healthwise. :nailbiting:
Mikan's being a good girl this morning. Nothing dramatic but came down to lower blue. Hope she can keep up!

Those images came flooding back. It was crazy as soon as I started to think about how they were everywhere. I even remember waiting in a line outside my grocery store to get in and waiting for people to leave. They controlled how many people were allowed in at one time. So many memories of a very scary time.

DH is working in the yard today! Yay. It's sunny here so he'll get disinfected as well :p
He'll test himself in a few hours - paws crossed for a negative result! :nailbiting:

I might take the liberty to make the yardstick even longer. I'd feel much better if it was 50ft long. :p:p:p

Totally coming back. My goodness, it was only what, 4 years ago?
Those lines were everywhere! And yes, I remember the line to get into the store was so long, it was all around the building and some more.
I also had a friend who would keep any packages outside for at least 24 hours before taking them in. Things we used to do! :eek:

Well, I was like your friend too. I left packages in the garage to “disinfect“ for a full day before I would bring them in and then I remember wiping all the packages down with a spray bottle of Mr. Clean on the counter. Nothing came in without having been wiped down. We just didn’t know what we didn’t know:banghead:
