Good evening,

we had a high day after a high night. Every day another surprise. I don't know if I ever understand how all this works. I hope she comes down again tonight or tomorrow.

I was successful with catching urine last night. The trick seems to be not to sneak in the bathroom too early. Yesterday I waited until I heard her peeing and than went in. Like that she couldn't stop and I could catch a fair amount. The results will probably come on tuesday.

Today was a mixed day for Binie. In the morning I thought everything is well, she woke me up early because she demanded her breakfast. At +5.5 she suddenly threw up quite a lot of water. We had that before and I think she choked on her water. My vet explained to me that swallowing is complex and as they grow older and get sick, they can choke more easily. After it she usually breathes in a strange way, like water went into her pipe, which stayed like that for a long time today and worried me. Now she seems better but is a bit quiet and stays in her catbed on the terrace.

I came across an old picture today from the times, when Binie was still roaming freely in the neighborhood. She always behaved like the whole street belongs to her. Makes me happy and sad at once seeing it.

Hope everyone has a good start in the weekend!

Hi Heike, sorry for my late response. I see Binie is giving you some blues and green tonight. I hope she stabilizes so you can get some sleep ;)

I hope she’s not been throwing up any more today. Poor girl. :bighug:
I love the photo of Binie wandering around outside (of course it terrifies me to think of Ivy like that, she’s always been an indoor kitty only). But Binie looks very relaxed on her street. :cat:

Great job catching the urine! I knew you could do it. One more task completed. Now we hope for good results. Paws are crossed :)

Wishing you both a calm night with stable BG ahead.:D

Hi Staci,

thank you so much for checking on us! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: No reason to apologize at all, you have so much going on.

We really need all paws crossed for the lab results. I don't know what the next steps are, if there are still germs in her urine. But somehow I feel optimistic today. We'll see.

I can assure you, Binie spending her days in the streets made me worry every day too. Even though I always loved to travel I didn't travel because of her for ten years now. I always tried to be around if she brings herself into trouble and I knew a catsitter who comes twice a day couldn't do that. I always thought I would start to do small journeys again when she is older and doesn't mind spending a week inside with a petsitter. Bad planning.... But seing her happy and self-confindent like on the picture was all worth it.

The night was good. I learned not to freak out if the lower numbers are just steady and no crazy drops. I even slept and trusted the alarm will wake me up if necessary.

Hope you have a relaxed day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
