Good morning,
We are waiting to hear from our vet to get Ivy’s dose of methimazole increased based on her higher T4 lab results to treat hyperthyroidism. :(

Very upset by this news in the last few days. Thank you everyone for your support. It means so much:bighug:
I would like to increase from .625 mg to 1.25 mg BID in the transdermal formulation prepared by a local compounding pharmacy.

She is acting and eating fine. May be drinking a little more though.
She may need an increase in her insulin. I like her greatly blue numbers but realize they are somewhat higher since these are Libre values.
Wishing everyone a very safe day of surfing :bighug::cat::bighug:

Good morning Staci!
Nice start BG for sweet Ivy!
She has been doing so well. I understand that those are Libre numbers, but her numbers are much lower consistently!

I think your plan for upping the transdermal formulation sounds reasonable. Ivy's number may be up but she has no clinical signs - good news!
It just takes a bit to adjust the medication dose to find, the sweet spot. I know you'll get there! :);)
Also, good luck with the insulin increase. It's a long road but we are moving ahead, Staci.
Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,

so happy Ivy is acting and eating fine! :bighug::bighug::bighug: That's what it is all about! And so good to see her blue numbers.

I feel your frustration. You do everything about Ivys therapy with so much care and knowledge and it is frustrating to see results, which are not as they should be. I hope the vet contacts you soon and is helpful in finding the right dose.

All the fingers and paws are crossed for you and Ivy! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Glad Ivy is acting well, good luck with vet, curious to see what they have to say. Hoping Ivy shows you some nice dark green numbers. Sending much love and many HUGS!!! :bighug:

Hope you hear from the vet soon and you can get her dose dialed in. You are so good adjusting her insulin I’m sure you will do just as well with this. You know her so well and pay so much attention to every detail of her normal/abnormal tendencies! Good luck and hugs to you and Ivy!

I hope you hear back from your vet soon. I know it's rough when the news back isn't what you want to hear. Deep breaths and take the time you need to, I guess, come to terms as best you can? There's a better way to say that, but I'm not feeling very smart about words all of sudden. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Kit, thanks so much for always making me feel better. You’re so good at it. Your reassurance is very helpful to me through this process :bighug::bighug:

I keep toying with the idea of an increase but then she dips down and her overall cycles have been much flatter and less bouncy (eek, shouldn’t say that too loud) :nailbiting:
So holding on to see what happens for now.

Still waiting to for the vet to call so we can get a medication adjustment called to the pharmacy ;)

Hope you and your sweet babies had a good day. Enjoy your night :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, thanks so much for your sweet support. I’m still waiting to discuss the changes needed with the vet. Waiting and pacing….

She seems to feel ok and is being sweet, so that’s always a good sign ( until she gets annoyed and then bites me). Lol.
I hope you both have a very quiet and calm night :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Me too, Deb. He seems to be in no hurry, (day 2), to call me. I’m trying to be patient but it’s hard.
Especially since the compounding pharmacy takes several days to prepare the meds.

Thank you for the kind support. It’s so appreciated:)
I hope you and Tiger have a nice night and he feels well :bighug::bighug::bighug:

This being patient thing is challenging me, Alicia. I feel like I need to get things moving for her so it makes me more stressed.

Your words were just great. No problem there. I always appreciate your sweet and funny support. You always make me laugh (that’s a talent).
Hope you and pretty Kit have a calm night :bighug::bighug::bighug:
