Alicia & Kit cat (GA)

Based on her numbers this morning, and the lack of greens in the last 8 cycles, I'm going to increase tonight. I'm also waiting to hear back from her vet - I'm a little worried that she also has a UTI again. Yesterday at one point over the course of about 45 minutes she was in the litter box 3 times, and peed tiny amounts each time. Fingers crossed that an increase helps.

Good meowning Alicia and Kitster!

Good luck with the increase tonight and also sending lots of PAWsitive vibes and thoughts your way ♡♡♡
Happy Caturday

Poor Kit. I hope you hear from the vet soon. If it is a UTI, you may want to try D-Mannose. It always helped Furball if she got a UTI. I divided it up into small capsules and gave it to her that way. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

D-mannose Dosage

  • A commonly used dose is 250-500mg twice a day.ManagingtheEcoliUTI(2011) KuKanich KSNAVC Clinician's BriefAug 2011pp61-66 mentions a dose of 250-1000mg twice daily.

  • With most (but not all) brands, a ¼ of a teaspoon of the powder is 500mg, so if you are giving 250-500mg, you would give ⅛-¼ teaspoon twice a day, but check with your vet.

  • Some people find it works better if they divide the total amount over 3-4 doses a day.

  • Keep giving it for a week after the symptoms have disappeared.
Since it is a type of sugar, D-Mannose has a pleasant taste. It can be easily mixed with wet food or mixed with water and syringed into the cat's mouth.

Hi Alicia, I’m sorry to hear Kit isn’t feeling great today. Ivy and I are sending you both lots of love and pawsitive thoughts. If it’s a uti, we hope the treatment will help her feel better.
Good luck with the increase tonight and good wishes for safe surfing ❤️:bighug:❤️:bighug:

Thanks, Carla. I'm still waiting to hear back from her vet, but I'll mention this to her.

Alicia,
It really sounds like UTI. Get her convenia. Can you get your home-visiting vet to come over?
Poor thing... and you must be exhausted from worrying. Hope it resolves quickly. Will be thinking of you. :bighug:
I emailed her, but I'm still waiting to hear back. I've sort of just been disassociating so I don't freak out thinking it's the end. Gotta stop the brain before it goes down roads it doesn't need to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks, Staci. I have a bit of a busy week ahead, so I'm hoping the increase doesn't toy with that too much, but we'll make whatever comes work.
