Hi Madeline, I hope Butch slides down gently today to some blues and dark greens:cool::D
Have a safe surf, handsome boy and a nice day :bighug::bighug:
Hi Staci, Thank you for the well wishes:cool::D Butch definitely came down but not gently. He had a big drop at +1.5. I have been giving him a snack of 6 % carb from the +2 till +4. He finished the can hopefully he will rise a little with no big bounce. Paws crossed. :bighug::bighug:

Yikes. Ivy has days and nights like this too. It seems nothing I do can slow her down. I have to use 12.5% to slow her for about 45 minutes then I have to give more. I only use about a teaspoon at a time (sometimes 1/2 tsp) since I’m afraid she will get full and not want to eat.
6% is Ivy’s regular food and does nothing to slow her down if she’s diving.

I’m glad It takes you lower carbs to get Butch to slow down!
I hope you glide gently to Pmps and don’t have a big bounce. Paws crossed! :bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Staci for the well wishes. I understand, I get afraid as well. Butch has been giving me a hard time with his regular food FF 1%-3% but really seems to enjoy the FF Flake 4%-6% so it is easier for me to get him to eat those carbs to slow him down. He loves the higher carbs even more FF Grill 12%-14% that I have fed. I used 13% the other day when Butch dropped into the low 40s. I usually do 2 tsp at a time and have to give more. If I give the higher carb, I give a 1/2 tsp to tsp. I try not to panic and remind myself that the Libre reads lower, but I still do :nailbiting:

I wish Butch and Ivy would stay nicely in the blue green :D with no big drops with crazy lows and big high bounces. Hopefully tonight it is a calm night. Safe surfing, Ivy. Paws crossed :bighug::bighug:

It is interesting with the Libre you can see how quickly the higher carbs go into effect. Sometimes if I give Ivy 12% within a few minutes her bg jumps up.
Do you see that as well with Butch on his Libre?

Sometimes because a lot of times the "signal loss alarm" breaks up the graph. I know when I use 4%-6% his BG doesn't always jump up, but it keeps him flatter and stops the drop. I think that is why I wind up giving him 1/2 to a whole can.

Interesting. He’s more carb sensitive than Ivy than if he reacts so well to 4-6%.

As I mentioned, with 6% she just keeps diving as though I gave nothing.

I know what you mean about the graph.
How do you like the Libre 2?
I started with the 2 but quickly realized that with the Libre 3 I could see her numbers at all times on my phone and wouldn’t have to physically scan her to get a reading.
So if I have to go out I know what’s going on. (Or even if I’m in another part of the house).
Just my 2 cents. (And the cost was the same).
:)

I like the Libre 2 for the peace of mind it gives me since I can't test otherwise. When Butch was hospitalized for unregulated diabetes, they provided the Libre 2 and I continued.
Thanks for sharing, I didn't know that there was such a difference between the Libre 2 & 3. I thought it was just the size. Being able to see the numbers all the time and not having to scan or be home to monitor would be great for me. Sometimes I can't scan Butch because he's where I can't reach him. Besides me having hand dexterity, I am a wheelchair user.

On the Libre 3 what reading is HI or LO? I know on the Libre 2 400 reads HI. I have never gotten a LO so I'm not sure.

Thank you so much :)
