Hi everyone! A question for pen users.

I've only ever used Lantus vials with Nao, and I'm due for buying a new one, but I haven't been able to find vials anywhere in my city, only pens. I know I could use the pen as it were a vial by drawing insulin with a syringe.
I've watched a few videos on how to, but I was wondering if a 6 mm needle would be long enough to draw the insulin out of the pen, or would it be too short?
The videos I've seen use longer needles than the ones the syringes I use with Nao have, so I've racking my brain trying to figure out if I should buy the pens or no. :banghead:

Hi Michelle, you’ll be just fine using 6mm in the pen cartridges. I’ve used both, although with Lev pens, but both 8mm and 6mm work in drawing out the insulin. You probably know this already, but don’t inject air into the pens like you do with the vials. Pump the syringe like usual but have it at zero, then draw out the insulin ;)

Yaay, thank you for your response, Christie :D
