Today, Puddin is suddenly lethargic, not as crazy as he usually is for food (typically ravenous and reminds me to feed him), and has louder and more labored breathing. He does not like the left side of his body being shot with insulin, but he tolerates the right well. His back legs also seem weak - even when laying on his side, he seemed to not be sure where to place his to leg.

Does anyone have insight into these issues?

The labored breathing is worrisome. Do you think you need to go to the ER? :bighug::bighug:
I've had a cat who required er for labored breathing and it definitely wasn't the same kind of labored breathing - it was a calm labor, almost like from physical exertion, but he had been sedentary all day. The breathing ended up normalizing and I gave him his breathing treatment as usual. I'm bringing him to get checked at our usual vet today as he is still lethargic - calm and happy, but very toned down in energy.

Can you count the number of in and out breaths per minute when he's resting? Use your phone. It should be in the 20-30 range. If above that, I'd think about the ER.
This is what concerned me - I had a count of 52 when I noticed his breathing was loudest and he was restless. After eating and resting again (more in a sleeping state) he had gone down to low 30s. I'm bringing him to be checked today as his low energy/ lethargy has persisted.
