When I tell you that you could have knocked me over with a feather at that AMPS.

Thank you to everyone who helped me try to not be a bundle of freaking out when she was hanging out super high, and thanks to Angela for reminding me to wait the full 3 days/6 cycles for the bounce to break.

Hopefully she can stick with where she is today, but there may be some smaller bounces after spending some time in yellows and pinks. I'll do what I can to remember that patience is a virtue, and I need to be better at it.

I hope folks have a good Friday.

I was surprised it was that fast of a bounce break. Now is the "what do I feed to keep her coasting without going too high of carbs" part of the discussion my brain will have with itself.
It's so hard to be patient when you're freaking out. Maybe I need to put a sign on the wall by my laptop that says something like "Have you tried PATIENCE yet today?" It can go next to my calendar with excel tips and tricks.
 
The vet hospital that did Kit's dental last time called me today to schedule an appointment for a dental. Because they wouldn't be able to get me in until September, I'm deferring until October so I can use my school's fall break to make sure I have time to be home with Kit after. She has an exam with them next week (they want an exam before the dental since they haven't seen her since 2022). Since I'll need to give her gabapentin before that, I might see if they are able to trim claws while we're there, otherwise she'll need to be dosed again the following week for her monthly appointment with her regular vet for her Solensia shot and claw trim. I'd prefer to only have to dose her once, but we'll do what we need to. She was still in remission the last time she had a dental with these folks, so we'll see if they give me any guff about how I'm treating the diabetes. I don't think they will - they listened really well to all the information I gave them, especially with things like, you might need me to get her out of the cage in the back when I come to pick her up, she tends to be feisty with anyone but me in that moment (prior experience), and they were like, we're a-okay with that! Last time they were shocked at how good she looked - all they knew going in was that she had stage 3 ckd and they expected a cat looking not good, and not one who honestly looked pretty normal (and feisty. So feisty). She definitely doesn't look as good now, especially with the neuropathy and the arthritis that has gotten worse, but considering all the things she has, I think she seems to be doing pretty well.
