7/26 Butch AMPS 284, +2 211, +4 168, + 6 183, +11 54, PMPS 214, +1 215, +2 146 Libre

If Butch was 214 at Pmps he should be high enough to shoot his dose.
Hi Staci. The +11 test was 54. I'm not sure what was going on with the Libre because it then would not read. I fed him and retest it registered with the 241.m I worried it not reading correctly.

Did you feed or shoot?
Please post with a question mark when you don’t know what to do or no one will know you need help.
Thank you, Staci. I feed but didn't shoot yet. I am going to retest in 5 minutes. His test was 182. Do you think it is safe to shoot his regular dose?

Did you get another test? You have **** much lower than 182 before. Are you worried about not being able to monitor if the libre fails?
Hi Angela. No, I did do another test but I did shoot. Yes, the +11 test of BG 54 scared me and not sure what was going on with the Libre. I'll test at PMPS +1 if there is a drop should I offer a high carb snack?

I forget, do you test with a handheld meter or just the Libre?
I also find that when the Libre goes very low, sometimes it stops transmitting and I get the “10 minute warning” as the values are either going lower or jumping up higher.

I would think if he’s lower at +1 a snack would be good.
Do you give snacks as the insulin onsets?
I give a small snack at +1, 2, 3 (a few tsp of her regular 6% food. But if she’s really diving fast, I will give 9 or 12% to try to slow her down).

I only use the Libre to monitor. I not able to use a handheld monitor due to my hand dexterity. That was exactly what I was receiving "10 minute warning". The alarm went off "low glucose" I tested it was 54. When I went to retest that is when it wouldn't transmit. Then Butch tested 241.

I’ve seen that happen many times. So it seems that Butch dipped low and then he was going up higher (it seems to stop transmitting while they go from very low up much higher. The libre seems to need to “catch up” as the reading is going so fast. )

But if he read over 200 and you scanned him again and he was still higher I would have shot a full dose.

Sometimes Ivy dips at the end of a cycle (especially if breaking a bounce and she continues to go down all cycle long. Or hits a second dip at the end after being higher mid cycle.)

And I thought you had told me about your hand dexterity before, Madeline. I just wanted to refresh my memory :)

Yes, I usually give a 2 tsp snack at the +1, +2, and +3 of 6% carb when he is diving. I wasn't sure if I should give a higher carb then that if he drops at the +1 tonight. His 54 reading at the +11 really scared me. I was little worried, so I fed him a 6% carb for his PMPS shoot

No harm done. I’ve fed higher carb when Ivy had a very low PS, too. (My regular food is 6%, so I bump up to 9% If she’s low). Plus Ivy doesn’t get a big bump at all from 6%. Does barely anything for her. But ECID!

If Butch is low at +1 I would give 6% if you feel he’s lower than you’re comfortable with. And hopefully he will surf along in a nice lower numbers.
You’ll know when you scan him.

No, big dive PMPS +1 215. I'll give him a +2 snack.
I usually feed Butch 1% to 4% carb. I give him snack 6% when he is diving at +1, +2, & +3, it doesn't give him a big bump either, but it keeps him flat.
