Fiona has a UTI and has started amoxicillin at AM and PM. Her bloodwork came back good and they want to do a curve check in 2 weeks with the libre at home. Her CKD is still stage 2. It did progress slightly but not too much. They don’t want me changing any food yet, but they said to start looking into Kidney safe / low carb food options as FF is not the best for CKD. Any suggestions?
 
Do you have the labs? If so you could post them. The Libre is not as accurate as ear pricks. Why do they want a Libre? It’s also a human meter so same as the Relion.

They know I use the Relion but they want to compare with the libre. I’ve used the libre before and it didn’t bother Fiona. They want to compare the 2 meters, which I thought was nice. We have a newer vet and she’s very open minded. We actually had a conversation about cbd oil the other day and its benefits. I’ll upload the bloodwork. I have to see if they updated it on the vet app. They said they are very impressed with her numbers and wanted to see the curve. They were also telling me about how the animal meter (I forgot the name) updated their sensor and it’s now very expensive to use.
 
The pet meter strips are very expensive. The methods used here were formulated using a human meter. We have found the Libre reads a lot lower than ear pricks especially in low bg. Just an FYI.

Yes, it read about 10-20 lower for me last time I used it. I told her all this. She wants to see the difference in the 2 because the pet meters are so expensive and they want to explore all options.
