CORKY

Very Active Member
I am having a very hard time understanding all these Purple BG's event with all the greens from 7/03 thru 7/08 he's had, he did not go as high but starting yesterday's PMPS and it was 240, Why is this happening his lasts Purple BG's were back on 4/30
These are the moments where I question What's going on with Corky I feed nothing but 0-4 % low carbs, at any moment even when he has been low, have I even giving Med/High Carbs, please if you have an answer way I would appreciate it

I don’t see any cause for alarm. As I always say, we need to be patient with Corky. We are looking for trends - so if we saw a real trend of rising numbers then we would evaluate what was going on and if dose adjustments are required or if there could be something else going on. So if you see the random pink or two and then he goes back down, don’t stress! I see that now he’s doing much better and had a very good PMPS!

So when did Corky last have a BM? Today? Yesterday?

sorry about your problem. I think stress contributes to it a lot.

BM?? Oh you bows movement !! Every day he’s not constipated. I just went to CVS for Pepto bismol for me. It’s me that has the bowel move t situation:bighug::cat::cat:

Yes. I totally understand that you mentioned that you were having GI upset. I was merely pointing out that the reason I asked about Corky is that he has struggled with constipation in the PAST and you have mentioned (and asked for help with) this problem of constipation in the past — as being a problem for both Corky and CoCo. I am glad to know that he’s not having trouble anymore!! Got it! Enough said about it. I will never ask again.

No!I’ts ok I thought you kept talking about coco , and yes, they are both very very regulated in that dept. I thank you for your concern and you can ask me anything all the time. I love communicating with you, aside from that he fact that you have been a valued teacher for Corky and I:bighug::bighug:;):cat::cat:

Hi, I have tried every way possible to reach out to you, It's not because of Corky, but is rare that at least once a day every day we have communication, or you let me know you saw Corky's SS and refer to his numbers, he has been doing really good lots and lots of greens, I would have heard from you by now, the last time, you had told me you had a cat that had surgery and it was touch and go, I wanted to know how things were with that and if you were ok, and now, if you still want to assist me when I need help, I trust your judgement, it's been so long communicating with you, I was wondering, If you have other issues that we cannot continue, could you recommend someone that I could trust?:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::(:cat::cat:

Hello there. Corky is still doing very well on this dose, particularly at night (which is not unusual.)
OMG!! She answered me!! You had me worried that something happened to you your silence was worrying me and YEA. Corky is doing great to my eyes
How’s your cat??

He is doing really well. We don’t need to change a thing right now. Just keep doing what you are doing. :)

HELP HELP!!Corky's BG is @ 110 ready for meal / shot what do I do?? by +4 the insulin kicks in, I have not given insulin yet hoping for advise, that I haven't received from all the PMs and post

I hope you shot the full dose. And did you retest after 30 minutes since you were delaying waiting for a reply? I will look at his spreadsheet now to catch up.

He was very steady from +8, +10 and +12 (PMPS). With the allowed meter variance those last three blue tests are very flat so Corky was not going down. However, when in doubt and nervous, you have the option of stalling WITHOUT FEEDING (no food) and retest in 30 minutes or longer if you like.

yes I did the full 1.25u, and hoping for the best, and thank you for responding, I assume I am trying to compete with balls of steel, I did not give any medium or high carbs I fed him 1 can of 4% of Chicken Chunky feast he did not eat much @ 12PM, so I tested @ 7:30 and he made me look bad his BG is 190, so I just have to wait to see what the next 1 1/2 hour will be like
I see the 190. Please color code this number blue. He is going up from the green today and you can hopefully fully relax now.

I just noticed that when I put the 8:00pm BG, thanks:bighug::bighug::bighug::cat::cat::D

It’s not considered dropping necessarily when he’s in the 70s like that. 79, 70, 73 in three hours is very stable and flat (and very good!) and not panicking is definitely good ;)

Corky is having a great cycle and you have stuck with low carb for him. I am proud of that.

Suzanne I am not ready to shoot under 105, please give me instructions should I dose less? I know one more time we still have 2 hours to go, I do not want to be surprised at the last minute if I cannot find you, he's been more than ever on the low side which is awesome, but it will be a down spiral after dose, please tell me what to do!! just got a big order from chewy of FF favorite meals, WOW! $156.00 later, I'm left 0 Corky and Coco as you know are the world to they need to eat healthy what's left after paying bills is for their food and Pretty litter, thank God for DCIN, and the member, especially you, that have been with me since get go, Corky wouldn't be here

It’s not six o’clock yet. Let’s not jump the gun. Wait until 6 o’clock and test him at 6 p.m. before worrying. Okay? And you have shot a 110 (two nights ago) and a 119 and 118.

Remember, when we are STALLING we do not feed. We test. No food. Wait 30 minutes and retest. Then decide if his number is okay to shoot.

I think his number will be fine though and we won’t need to stall. But if you feed him then we no longer have the option of stalling because it renders the test meaningless.

Of course I’ll test first and inform you right away before feeding ok?

105 PMPS awaiting your response! right now I on\y have high carbs no medium

He is probably going to do the same thing he did the night before last, and he will get a bump from the food also. But we need to make sure.

The reason I think you should shoot the regular dose is that you shot 110 two nights ago. And you have MC and HC on hand IF NEEDED and you are able to test him and manage the cycle if necessary.

I am so sorry about that. What happened last night with Corky? You don’t have anything alarming on his spreadsheet.
But anyway, for tonight, what is Corky’s +2?
