Sounds like a plan! I stocked up on MC and HC friskies today...
I bought a few 0% carb Fancy Feast. I want to slowly transition him to Fancy Feast when I'm back to work mid July.
I stuck to the friskies after his diagnosis because it was a more cost friendly, low carb, and thats what he has eaten his entire life.
However, his cholesterol has been high over the past 3 yrs and friskies is 60% fat. Fancy Feast is in the 30ish %. I wanna make an effort to get his cholesterol down.
I won't transition him thou till we get a good idea on how he responds to his new dose. Too many new variables can make things confusing when trying to analyze his SS and his response to his insulin dose. But I have about 6 cans of the FF in the house for when he's ready to transition.
Question
@Wendy&Neko: So cats are sensitive to insulin when first diagnosed. Mazi was diagnosed on 3/10/24, I believe. Do you think the reason he was possibly earning all those reductions in April and early part of May was because he was still new to insulin and possibly still sensitive to it? And at the end of May and June, his body became more acclimated to the insulin, which then increased his insulins needs?
Just curious, because nothing has changed. The type and amount of food he eats is still the same and no signs of infection, Pancreatitis, or any other illness or stress?
