Good evening,

day 3 on the new dose. We just had one flat bouncing cycle which is nice. The other cycles she went down nicely but came under 150 just once. I am curious how it develops. I hope I don't have to go further up again.

Unfortunately the reader is still not uploading the data on my mac. I spent hours on the phone with the customer care so far but we couldn't solve the problem. I think about using a second phone instead of the reader but I am scared that this is not so reliable. The reader itself always worked out fine. At the moment I try to note the bg every hour but of course this has limits and I don't have much data for the night. I can look up the curves on the reader but I don't have exact data for these times. So many challenges...

I hope everyone has a beautiful day with their kittys! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, do you have a spare phone to try using?
I use a phone and not a reader and like it very much.
If you have a phone you could try it with your next sensor when activated and see how it goes.
(As you know, you don’t need service on the phone so you’re not paying for an additional phone line).
Hoping this dose will improve things even more.
Wishing you and Binie a lovely night :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Staci! Binie got my friends old IPhone for her 14th birthday. :) But I was hesitant to use it with the sensor so far as I read many times that is not as reliable as the reader. On the other hand it would give me more flexiblilty seeing her numbers when I am away. It helps that you have good experience with that and I will give it a try! Hope you have a beautiful day with Ivy and the new dose works out fine! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Binie is a lucky girl. What a nice birthday present!

I find it’s wonderful to be able to be anywhere and know what’s happening with Ivy. I can even be in bed (on a rare occasion, lol) and if she’s going low I can rush to get food ready to feed her.
Or if I’m out, I can get home quickly since I know what’s going on by using the phone.

I think it’s worth a try since you’re having trouble with the reader anyway. Hopefully, you will love using the phone and it will give you more flexibility. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you Staci, you really encouraged me to try! It would really help to control her bg remote. I already though about combining it with a feeder, I can control with my phone as well. So I could give her hc food if she goes too low. Did you think about something like that as well? More flexibility sounds sooooo good! Thank you! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes, I do have a remote feeder, too. My problem is that Ivy is hit or miss if she feels like eating from the feeder. But it’s always a great option for the time she decides to use it! The app is on my phone for that, too.
I feel the more tools we have to use, the better! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike. I use a phone too and it works well. Hubby is able to monitor it as well. So wonderful she got a phone as a gift! You’re all set to try it. Good luck!

Ivy is really quite a charakter! :cat: I saw cats always running to the feeder when they hear the mechanism. But I think Binie will be a bit like Ivy. If she is in the mood she will use it, if she is not in the mood she will not care... So the feeder will not be the ultimate solution but I want to give it a try.

Hi Deb, my friend said: "She is 14 now - so old enough for her own phone." ;) My friend knows how difficult it is for me to leave the house so actually it was more a present for me. So good to know, that you also made good experience with it! I will give it a try with the next sensor. Thank you! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

You have a very thoughtful friend, Heike. She cares about both you and Binie very much.
I am excited for you to try the phone and see how it works out. Sending many good wishes. ❤️
Do you already have the Libre Linkup app on your phone set up so that’s in place for when the data will be sent to your phone from Binie’s Libre 3 app on her phone?

Thank you Staci! My friend really helped me a lot the last month and I would have gone nuts without her. I feel this disease is really socially isolatin. Not only because I don't leave the house so much but also because many people don't understand why I am doing that. I am sure everybody here has similar storys to tell....

Yes, I already installed the Linkup app on my phone. I made everything ready because the plan was to activate the last sensor with it but in the last moment I became sceptical because I really needed the alarm function and I was not sure if it works so well with the phone. But your comments really encouraged me and I will use it with the next sensor. I am so happy to learn from your experience! Thank you! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
