Fine morning. She had a messy soft #2 in the LB mid-day, which was disappointing after a pretty consistent week and a half or so. Again, maybe we overdid it with the late night snacks. She's been turning her nose up at the fortiflora, but we'll push it a little harder. Planning to mix it into one of her mid-day snacks tomorrow so we don't risk her not eating a full meal with her insulin.

Went ahead with a full (0.25U) evening dose with a single PMPS of 190. A tiny bit lower than our threshold had been, but per @Wendy&Neko 's advice from earlier this week within 10% of the 195 we dosed her at last night. We'll check her once or twice more tonight, but we're hoping to not overdo the late-night snackies again tonight.

One upcoming thing that we want to be mindful of is that Nia, who works from home and facilitates mid-day snacks and tests, is traveling next week so K will be home alone for 9~10 hours a day while I'm at work. Wondering how concerned y'all think we should be about the missing snacks and inability to monitor her more than ~90m after her AM shot. We could look into borrowing a timed feeder with some low-carb treats (a couple of the freeze-dried raw chicken treats? Any other suggestions for something solid, room-temp safe, and low-carb I could stock it with?). Unfortunately my commute is just hefty enough that popping home for a lunch break is outside my capabilities day-to-day.

Will probably run another curve this weekend, although I'll be reluctant to increase her dose while she's home alone as much as she'll be next week.

Catmate is another brand of feeder, both it and Petsafe are good. With the Catmate, you can buy an optional gel pack that fits in a spot below the rotating feeder. I had the Petsafe and just got a soft gel pack and folded it to fit. That keeps the food cold. Another option is to add an ice cube on top. It keeps the food cold then melts to add water. Or you can freeze catsicles in the freezer the night before. Add water, mix and freeze in an ice cube tray. I'd go more than just freeze dried treats, but rather some of her regular low carb food. Unless the test before you leave says she's dropping quite a bit, in which case you'd leave something higher carb in the feeder.

Fortiflora is not the greatest probiotic. It's only a single strain of flora. Lots of other options out there, including human ones like RenewLife. More information here: https://www.ibdkitties.net/supplements/probiotics/
