CORKY

Member Since 2023
I need input, Corky just did a very strange poop, it looked like a big piece of sandy plaster, and all over the litter box there were little bits of miniature and small pieces. The strangest thing I've seen yet, only once but I feel I should be concerned

No clue except it seems like a sign of constipation. The fact that it’s dry enough to crumble is concerning. re they getting MiraLax on a regular basis?

Every evening 1/4 tsp for 5 day straight, once they go I stop, I put a new bag of Pretty litter on the 8th and it was so full of little crumbles and Coco likes a super clean box and she had not pooped for several days, I changed it today and Coco went immediately, I’m stopping the Miralax for Corky for a while, I need a poop that has consistency because I am concerned as well, question does the foundation assists with any lab test or X-ray for Corky? Or any other??

I would not stop the MiraLax for Corky. He just had a very hard crumbly poop. That doesn’t mean to stop. Hos stool should be softer - more normal.

Unless you’re saying that Corky had soft crumbly stool? If it was soft and someone went in the litter box and kicked it into little bits? But it sounded more like you were describing hard poo?

Just a FYI…I feed a raw diet to my cats. If they get too much bone, the poops can be white and crumbly.

Thank you, well, the poop was not white but it looks like is a one time thing, He pooped last night quite well, I was really nervous about it because I had never seen him poop like that in 10 years. thank you for you input, will keep that in mind :bighug::cat::cat:

He doesn't have "cement paws" does he? When we had nine cats we had five big boxes but they were never used evenly. Noah always had clods of wet litter in his paws that he would nibble at. It's almost impossible to clean that crud off.

That’s funny never heard that terminology no he doesn’t both Corky and Coco have pink beans thanks I think it was a one time thing, this morning he went really well, only thing is that I had just changed the litter less then one week ago I use Lotus scent Pretty Litter, and it was an “ouch” in my pocket, thank God I always keep 2 bags on hand, Coco my female will not go if the litter smells jus a bit or the way it looked, she think She’s a QUERN, not a princess haha thanks:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

"Cement Paws" is as bad as it sounds. We learned the hard way 20+ years ago cheap litter just isn't worth it. The pee clumps were huge and since our trash is picked up every two weeks I was always apologizing to the garbage dudes. One of those nine cats weighed 28 pounds so use your imagination. Another cat steps in that mush and it dries up before he gets to the top of the stairs.
This is Kobi, someone moved and just left him in an empty house. He was fearless, small dogs and alligators trembled in fear when they saw him. Just think of two twelve pound turkeys with four pounds of stuffing and you'll get the idea.

Gorgeous kitty ! I myself hated the clumping litter, when I discovered the Fresh Step Crystal never went back to the clumping litter Clay, the ammonia smell never left, then I discovered Pretty Litter, now, there is a litter for you, I kept seeing it on line, but it had to be auto-ship, then Publix and Walmart started carrying it, what a game changer, I am very scrupulous and my house is impeccable you will never see much hair just for that day and I have a 1/2 Main Coon, Coco, I have a Jumbo size litter box for both of them in my room, the A/C hits it, and there's not one bit of smell, that stuff is off the chain!! thank you for sharing your baby's photo I wish I knew how or if I can share my babies photos with this Forum, I've tried, but I really have not downloaded pics in my gallery from my phone on my Laptop, maybe I'll learn how, I've tried that copy paste instruction I was giving once, can't get it done, what can I say, not too technically inclined, one of these days. Have a great weekend:bighug::bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

Change of topic.
69 is a safe number. Corky is safe.
Stick to the low carb feeding schedule unless he goes below 50.

I have Red but I do not believe I will sleep much tonight until I see three numbers, I promised Corky and Suzanne and yourself I would never use HC unless 60 lower and I have kept my promise, as scare as I am right n ow, and all those green numbers I have been seeing, I want my baby to get well, like Suzanne has said these are the best numbers for his pancreas, but they scare me , mostly at bed time, I do not want to feel guilty if something happens to him while I sleep, enough guilt I feel when I make errors, can't sleep just yet, thank you for your support, I am really trying to be a big girl not reach out as I have in the past, but learn how to handle moment like this, even if I am biting my nails, and my heart pound so hard:bighug::bighug::cat::cat::nailbiting: Have a blessed weekend

share my babies photos
With the right cable you can transfer anything to a laptop or external drive. Make a new folder first, then just follow the pop-up instructions. Photos should be in JPEG format. I don't know why but I can only upload from 'My Documents', this thing is 11 years old and runs Windows 7.
It's always the same time here, 12 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 12 o'clock  :coffee:

:blackeye::D:D:D that's so funny, thanks for the instructions I'll give it a try, my laptop is real good, I bought this one for my birthday and Christmas present Dec 23, 2022 ,had not used it until August last year, Corky was diagnosed in June 2 2023, left the hospital after 8 days, I was broke by then, and their Vet wanted nothing to do with Diabetes, I started to search all I could about the illness it was not until August that I found this Forum, it has been a life changer for me because I have yet to take Corky to a Vet since, He is an inside cat, no ailments, both are, adopted him at 6-8 week old he will be 11 July 18th healthy like a rock and this Forum and the amazing members and the Foundation, that has helped me with supplies, have pulled Corky health wise and myself emotionally to the fullest. I trust these members I relate with blindly, and seeing at my Coco's SS today, tells it all, I am proud of him:bighug::bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

I'm betting you see green tonight.
Ok! Red help me out please, I need reassurance as always in this case, on 3/21 was the last time Corky read om PMPS 124 with 0.75u, he is right at this moment +10/ 126 with 1.0 units, keeping in mind that by 10:00 - 10:15PM is when the insulin kicks in, I do not believe he will get any higher by PMPS maybe a few more number at most, my constant question in this predicament Do I shoot or not ??:arghh::(:nailbiting::bighug::cat::cat:

I guess there's no need for an answer any longer , you guys just wanted me to figure it all on my own, He's @ 142/ 5:00 PM , sorry for bothering and my impertinence, I just can't help but panic, when I see these number even 2 hours before AMPS/ PMPS, just knowing I could get an answer before panicking, helps my heart not to pound out of my chest:bighug::bighug::bighug::cat::cat:;)

I can’t figure out your feeding notes — your notes on feeding keep saying +7. You aren’t supposed to be feeding after +6. But over and over in the notes I see +7 (which would be one o’clock a.m. and p.m. your time.)

Also, PLEASE fill in his spreadsheet showing his test at 6:00. And his unit at 6:00. Please don’t wait to fill it in.

and I am not getting any responses to my posts so I have no idea what is going on.

You shot 1 unit and that was perfect. So glad you did. Wait … you can’t have shot yet. My mistake.

your right , I did @ 6:00PM 1.0u, he's ok it's me panicking as usual and is every time 2 hour prior PMPS when I see less than 130 that my hearts starts pounding, but no worries is back in my chest, just like I got use to greens, I will need to pay attention to this as well, and do as you always tell me breath in, breath out. Have a good evening, hope I do not need to call out to you after 10:!5PM. and poor Red, she's got so much on the plate today

Okay. I am going to repost my question. In short: why do your food notes say you are feeding at +7 when you should stop feeding at +6?

Corky is safe. Look at his spreadsheet there was a bigger drop two nights ago.
Nothing in the notes about his food in this PM cycle.

You sent me a PM saying his BG was 73, but I don’t see it on the spreadsheet at this time. It’s probably just me. I do see that he’s gone up.

Maybe green today? Last time he had a similar AMPS on this dose he had some green.

I hope we can have a new thread. I am not a fan of the Crumbled Poop title of this one. LoL! Although you could always change the title.
