Hello! I have been trying to find a correct dose for Gucci since his Glucose has significantly decreased over the last 2 weeks with no bouncing. Just 2 weeks ago I was giving him 2.75 units twice a day, however have been trying to figure out what his needs are now and am hitting low 70s daily, and just now 65 (Alphatrak 3).

I just gave him some higher carb food (Hills Gluccosupport) to get his numbers back up, and I know some of the higher dose depot from a couple of days ago can influence 4-6 cycles, but would it be wrong to go down to 1 unit twice a day so I can at least hold that does for a few days and adjust from there? I dont want to keep changing doses, but also dont want him to hit numbers under 70 since I won't always be able to be home.

Thanks!
Devin

Gucci seems to want less and less insulin.
When following TR, we don't usually take back to back reductions, however in Gucci's case, you do need to find a dose you can shoot consistently and also keep her safe.
How long has it been since you started the all wet LC diet?
What is your schedule, ability to monitor, the next couple of days?
Did your vet or the manual indicate the 'normal' range for a cat on the AlphaTrak 3?

I agree! I did 1.25 today so we will see what happens, I really cant count this morning because i gave him extea food at +2.5 so I could go to sleep for a bit since it was time for insulin to kick in. I cut out Hills Gluccosupport wet food about a month ago although ive given it to him a few times in the last few days to try to spike his glucose when low. The internest is consistent with this board and said 70-180 i believe (could be wrong on the high value since ive been using libre before alphatrak

When following TR the AlphaTrak "take action" BG is below 68 and you'll reduce the dose.

There have been a bit of dose changes the last couple of cycles. It will be interesting to see what consistent dosing at 1.25 will produce now that you've removed of Hills Gluccospport :)
