We are finishing up our 5th cycle today. Bronte seems to still be in a transient state with the current 1u dose. I would like to wait a few days and collect additional data points prior to increasing the dosage. Her initial dosage brought her levels into the 80-90 range driving my hesitancy to make any changes yet. Am I being too cautious in waiting for it to reach a more steady state before increasing the dosage? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance....will

Perhaps put something like "increase dose?" in your header to grab some attention for some advice. Hope this helps! :bighug:

If my count is correct, 5/2 AM makes the 10th cycle (5th day) on this dose. (A cycle is a 12 hour period. There are 2 cycles in one day, AM and PM). It looks like you started giving insulin PM 4/27/24 and you are following the TR dosing method.

From the dosing methods sticky:

General Guidelines:
  • Hold the initial starting dose for 5 - 7 days (10 - 14 consecutive cycles) unless the numbers tell you otherwise. Kitties experiencing high flat curves or prone to ketones may want to increase the starting dose after 3 days (6 consecutive cycles).
  • Each subsequent dose is held for a minimum of 3 days (6 consecutive cycles) unless kitty earns a reduction (See: Reducing the dose...).
  • Adjustments to dose are based on nadirs with only some consideration given to preshot numbers.
I don't see the harm in waiting the 7 days for the depot to fill. :cat:
