Thank you everyone that help me with hypo yesterday. Today is the first day of a new dose 0.75U. She seems to be doing pretty good in this dose. She spent the daytime between 95 - 153. Hope she can stay at the low range.

Yesterday's post:
4/10 Evey AMPS 140 +11 47 PMPS 47 | Feline Diabetes Message Board - FDMB

UPDATE:
Well, she is definitely staying at the lower range. but She is hypo again:banghead: Her evening +4 is 41 by handheld meter. It seems It's too early for hypo to happen. I fed her 30g of can food addition to the 100g can food that she had. I hope she will get out of hypo soon.

The sliver lining is she earned another reduction!

Is she having any symptoms? If not it’s low bg but not a symptomatic hypo. There’s a big difference. The Libre often reads lower than the bg actually is at so if you can get an ear prick when she see a bg under 50 to confirm that would be really good. Evil is really responding well to insulin. :D

yes, when the BG is low, the libre is not so accurate. The Libre shows LO so I tested her with a handheld glucosmeter. The handle meter result is 41.

As for symptoms, her meow sounds weaker than usual. Not sure if that counts. It's midnight where I am now and It's her bedtime. How can I tell if she just fells asleep or she is sleeping or even unconscious because of hypo?

No. Do you have any high carb wet food? If not, you could add some honey to her wet food and give her some. Test again in 30 mins?
Still 41 with the meter?

I have ZIWI, which has chicpeas in it. Can I give her that? I stop giving her ziwi because it makes her BG goes up.

Not with meter. right now the libre says 48.

It's late enough in the cycle so she should be okay. Feed her some more and leave some food out for her to eat later.

She is down to 43/2.4. geeze. It's almost +7. i fed her another 10g of ziwi. How long does it take for the food to bring the BG up?

Any luck getting a ear poke? Food takes only 20 mins to bring the BG up but if insulin is countering the food, then the BG will continue to drop or be hard to keep up.

Any luck getting a ear poke?
No... she really doesn't like it.

Only 20mins... so it seems the insulin is countering the food now. I already fed her 150g in total for her evening meals, which is 250g in total for one day (she is supposed to get 200g/day). Should I keep feeding her?

Why not feed her some honey mixed in her food to give her a boost? or just give her some honey if you are worried about the calories.

If I remember correctly, there's a post saying that honey is just temporary? I am not worried about the calories. I am worried if she overeats and has an upset stomach. She can eat until her belly is hard as a rock:banghead:

Both honey and any carbs from food will wear off 2 hours after being consumed.

Yes, simple sugars like Karo, honey, maple syrup, sugar-water will bring the BG up quicker, but also wear off fairly quickly too so it's good to either mix a simple sugar with food or give a little to start working quickly and then give some high carb food (not too much...you don't want to fill them up or make them throw up).

Food takes a little longer to break down and get into the bloodstream (20-30 mins for canned).

Kibble takes longer than canned food.

Sorry I missed your message. I tried to stay up to get her +8 but I was too tired and fell asleep. I didn't give her honey. I'm so happy to see that she is fine in the morning, but not the part that wakes me up with her loud meow and banging the door for food (didn't I just overfed you last night??).

Based on the Libre curve, she went up above 54 around 5am (+10). So she stayed under 70 for almost 9 hours after the evening shot.

Thank you for giving me advice to get me through this~ You're amazing! Thank you so much

I'd also reduce to 0.5 tomorrow. With a skipped shot last night, the reduction this morning and dropping too low again tonight, maybe she's going to make a run at remission! (we can hope!)

Thank you for explaining about the food~ I always thought it would take about an hour or so for the can food to bring the BG up. It's good to learn something new everyday.

Yes, I reduced the dose to 0.5U. Hopefully it won't bring her BG down too low this morning because I am not at home all day. I really hope she can get to remission. If she can get to remission, that's because of all the wonderful helps and advices from amazing people in this group. I'm so blessed that i found this group. ❤

Good luck with the reduction for Evey. You did great last night asking for help and getting the BG up.
Wishing you a safe day ahead :bighug::cat:

Thank you. She is having another quick drop again. I fed her higher carb wetfood and it brought her BG up a bit. I think my cat wants to keep me up all night again.
