Hi everyone
What a night! 15 minutes after his shot last night, the libre sensor timed out. It stayed timed out for 2 hours then gave that awful replace sensor message! Being that it was almost 11 pm, we weighed the options and decided that with him being so high every night this week, we would just go without until this morning. (I know Staci, we need to learn to do it ourselves!). I made sure to keep him carbed up all night…..and hoped the vet would see him first thing in the morning.
Got up this morning and Tiger was hungry, followed me into the kitchen and ate a bit immediately, however it didn’t stay down, but 10 minutes later he scarfed down the rest and was fine…..maybe ate too fast at first or too much rich gravy.
I really didnt want to shoot without a reading since it had been so long since we had a reading and the vet can’t see him until 1pm (5 hours from shot). So all this to say, we finally got our first reading on the Contour meter! It took 3-4 tries and an unhappy Tiger but we got it! One thing we did different was I suggested to shine a flashlight thru his ear, and it actually helped.

I wouldn’t want to do it all the time because he’s so hard to get blood from but at least we know we can in an emergency.
Now without much sleep and a lot of stress I need to pick up the house for my birthday present to myself, house cleaners!
I have arthritic hands and a bad shoulder flaring up, so decided I needed help. I hate admitting that, but I finally had to. It’s no fun getting old….

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day!

so I have not been here this week. I am thankful for getting this work done though, it will help to have a better lit and more ergonomic kitchen because as you said, getting older we have to be more thoughtful about how we use our bodies and eyes! I am overjoyed to see your post about Tiger I just hope he feels better and no more puking!!!)
