Sir Maximus Numbers / Continued

Thank you for checking in on him. Hopefully he surfs to Australia and back overnight.

I was thinking today maybe all along he didn't need all this insulin. Maybe the last bottle of insulin was just weak and to old and didn't produce that much for him. I guess also maybe the pancreas and other organs our getting healthier too. It was just a thought and crossed my mind.

Sorry for the delay. I just found out one of our precious FDMB cats passed away and I have been crying like a baby. And I am very emotional this week as my cat Ginger has been struggling.

Oh my I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine the emotions you must experience during these times. I hope Ginger starts feeling better. Always feel free to reach out if you ever need someone to talk to or any emotional support.

Oh Suzanne, I’m so sorry. I sent you a message yesterday because you’ve been on my mind and I’ve been wondering how Ginger is doing. I’m sorry to hear she is struggling, and I’m sorry about the FDMB kitty.

Hey. I’m going to reply to you today. I wanted to take the time to really give Liberty’s spreadsheet a good study. Thanks, Julie. It’s always good to hear from you!

And look how great Sir Maximus is doing here!

I’m thinking we need to bump him up a tiny bit to get the greens down a little lower. I am not saying tonight. I just am feeling like we could get those high end greens a little lower. Whether that means a fattened .25 or going up to .5, we won’t know until we try.

Sir Maximus’ steadiness of really excellent though. Maybe you soon will be able to leave for work and feel confident that he will stay stable.

Yes curious why he was flat last 2 AMPS readings. He's had a good lower eve cycles.
Had to give him some MC at +4. Gonna test him in 10 minutes.

What's a fattened dose of .25? Just a tiny more than .25? Might have to get my magnifying glasses out

I don’t actually know if you need to give the MC like last night. I really think he may be able tp stay steady and not drop below 50. It’s something that we could verify with your careful monitoring. If he hots a similarly low number to last night at +4 you could try just feeding regular low carb food and go ahead and test him in 30 minutes to make sure he doesn’t drop below 50. I’m not being reckless with Sir Maximus’ safety, but I am going for him to get into remission. Although some of our cats just do really well on a very small dose … some as low as .10

:woot: I was hoping you would wait until the morning to do that. You and Sir Maximus did very well though.
Good Morning Suzanne. Ya i should of waited till this morning. When I looked down at that +57 at +2 it caught me off guard. He hadn't been dropping that much in the past and he was flat the last 2 mornings. Amazing what a little drop or two will do to his levels.

Hi Shawn. I’m just checking in on our favorite black and white gentleman. How’s he doing? Spreadsheet still looks good.

Hey Suzanne, Thanks for checking in.
He's doing pretty good. Had a bigger drop than usual yesterday Am with the .25 dose early in cycle but controlled it. Overall hes.been pretty steady in good numbers.

He’s doing great. Why no fat dose tonight? He did fine on it last night with the same preshot.
Hi Suzanne, I thought about it but he dropped over 50 points today and that would be under 50. I just get a little cautious doing the .25F under 100. I was surprised he didn't drop last night like today. I was wimpy tonight and didn't feel like rolling the dice at the craps table.

Okay. But this morning it took him two hours to drop the 47 points and then he stabilized pretty well. I’m assuming he ate LC all day. If so. awesome!
Ya he ate low carb all day. Sometimes I kudt look back at the days I've given him .25F and analyze his drops and other than last night he drops anywhere from 50 to 70 points from pre shot number than I look at a pre shot number under a 100 and get intimidated of him going under 50. Maybe I'm over analyzing the situation. You know me I usually go down to the wire and then control him with food.

Hi Shawn! If you have to be gone tomorrow afternoon and evening then I think unless he had a really unusual preshot number in the morning that you will be safe to shoot his usual.25 dose. When you leave at 1:30, is that +5.5? Is his shot time still 8 a.m. Eastern?

And it sounds like your sister is good at drawing the .25 dose and I think you can tell her if he’s too low to shoot (which I doubt since he’s been very regular these days, thankfully!)

So you will be home in the p.m. cycle by +4. That’s good too. He’s gonna be fine. I’m so happy that we have him in a better place now and without all that horrible bouncing and unpredictability.
Yes so much better for his body. Does his pancreas still heal when he is in the low blues? I know they say 50-120 is a good range for numbers. I will monitor him up to when i leave and make the decision. i should be home right around the +4 cycle but i'm gonna tell her to give him a 3 TSP at his +2 snack instead of the usual 2 tsp. That should give him a little extra protection. He could be a little stressed too since im gone all day so that might raise his numbers a little. Not sure if he misses big daddy or not when I'm away:)

Well he’s used to having you around and I’m sure he likes it! I know he’s going to be fine. I would say that his pancreas can heal anytime he’s in that normal numbers range as it won’t be stressing his pancreas trying to react to higher numbers with an insulin dump — trying to reduce BG.
