Hi,

My cat was given Veraflox for Mycoplasma Turicensis as well Mycoplasma Haemominutum. The thing is Veraflox started horrible diarrhea for him. This has been a typical reaction for Theodore with Antibiotics with then exception of Clavamox. We were given the option of Doxy or Veraflox. We were told Veraflox is more effective however pricer, Doxy can cause some sort of Ulcers too. The thing is they recommended 1 month treatment and I see guideline is 7 days max typically although some do treat longer under veterinary discretion but it also says should be cautious with FIV/FELV cats which Theodore has both. We added Purina DM to his diet which caused his glucose to go up, the reason for that is that it constipated him previously, so we figured it might help but now his glucose has been terrible and he is drinking lots.

He is on 2ML daily (Veraflox 25 mg/mL, 30 mL suspension).

Any suggestions? Has anyone heard of cats being on Veraflox for this long and has it been save with immune compromised cats. He is FELV regressive (at the moment).

@Wendy&Neko tagged you as you have been helpful with so many questions

Is Theodore also on a good probiotic to counter the antibiotic effects? Or have you tried s. boullardii? I fortunately have limited experiences with antibiotics in cats so can't comment on Veraflox.
