? 26/03 Bailie AMPS 288 +3 149

This happened with Bandit too! :( We had to carry her to the LB twice a day to relieve herself. It will resolve once his BG comes under control. It took a long time for Bandit too.
He's still getting Methyl B-12/Zobaline daily, right?

I’m so upset seeing him like this .yesterday at least he could kinda get around today not so much at all .I don’t want to have to put him to sleep he is good in every other way .what can I do in the meantime for him until I get the Zobaline ? Can I get the vitamin at a health food store ? I feel like he is never going to regulate it’s so hard to watch him like this .I’m so glad you are here and you answered me I am so upset right now .

You don't have to put him down! I have been exactly where you are now. Bandit's first 6 months or so after diagnosis were miserable. She just lay on the bed all day and night looking sad and didn't move around at all - probably thanks to the neuropathy. We were wracked with guilt and uncertainty about whether we are doing the right think by treating her diabetes. Like Bailie she absolutely refused wet food and we switched her to Dr. Elseys and Young Again (she dislike Young Again and tolerated the Dr. Elsey's). It took a while but once her numbers came under control, she became her old self and went back to doing zoomies! We were so glad we persisted! She had been such a nimble cat before DX that it was awful to see her immobile due to neuropathy, so I know how you're feeling.

You don't need to give him only Zobaline. That's just one of the brands of methyl B-12 and a pretty expensive one at that! There are a couple of other brands that people in the US/Canada use:
https://www.amazon.com/Vitamin-B12-Methylcobalamin-5000-mcg/dp/B08154TKT8/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20
https://www.vitacost.com/vitacost-vitamin-b-12-methylcobalamin-5000-mcg-100-capsules-6

You can buy any brand of methylcobalamin B-12 available in health food stores or pharmacies. When looking for Methyl B12, make absolutely sure it does not contain Xylitol (an artificial sweetener). Even a very small amount can be fatal to cats and dogs.

But today he doesn’t even want to stand on his back legs at all with bandit like that?

It's over 4 years now, so I don't remember very clearly, but it was quite bad. She would hold in her pee because she couldn't walk to the LB and we would carry her to it.

I see you're transitioning to Dr. Elsey's. Is he eating it? Will he not eat LC wet food? I see he has arthritis as well as neuropathy? Have you considered Solensia injections? I've only had one shot so far and it's already helping. @Dallas boy has been doing them for 2 years.

He will not eat wet I’ve tried and still am trying with every meal . He took solensia for over a year I was looking at a group on FB called Solensia killed my cat and the nightmare stories on there and the arthritis page scared me to death I’m scared to give him anymore he hasn’t had a shot in 3 months . I’m wanting to do it but really scared .

Yes, I thought about that it looks like he is getting Cartrophen shots now? That didn't help either of my kitties at all. If Solensia helped him, you should put him back on it again.
I honestly don’t think it helped him but now I’m wondering if it did and I didn’t know it .

Hi Nancy,
I'm sorry to her Bailie got worse. But remember those videos I sent you? Nestle was like a potato sack for a while also. And just like Bandit he would just lie in his bed most of the day. I also had to carry him to the litter box if I was home. I know how sad and painful it is to watch. I've cried almost every day watching him struggle but I'm so glad I didn't give up and with time he got better. And you saw in the videos, he's running and jumping. It won't happen overnight and it takes time and oh so much patience but please don't give up :cat::bighug::cat::bighug:
