3RD Corky's Fat dose

will be testing again in 20 minutes. Regarding the meal if it stays or lowers do I give HC or the Florentine Light broth, or Karo or mix reg food with 1 tsp of HC which of the three I need to be prepared

I did good Suzanne !!!! just tested 119 I will feed him @ 11:00 and do last test at 12:00

I will do the right thing and give him his regular LC I'm sure the food will spike the Bg a bit and be good for AMPS
 
I hope you didn’t give HC or karo. I was just looking over the other thread. We don’t give HC or karo when a cat is at 70 which is a normal healthy number. It’s okay
 
And when you are in the middle of a cycle don’t start a new thread. Wait until the cycle is over. It’s okay to go over 50 if in the middle of managing numbers and getting help.

Since Marge reprimanded me once and said I should not go over 50 posts, So if I am on the same subject I should stay there right or the cycle we are talking about?
 
It’s true that we don’t generally want to go over 50 posts but the exception to the rule is if you are in the middle of managing low numbers or just numbers that you are concerned about. It’s okay!

Just don’t freak out if he drops back down a bit. When the karo wears off he probably will, but it’s okay. Unless he drops below 50, which I doubt, don’t worry.

Ok I won’t but if I’m sleeping and drops that low and I don’t see it Suzanne now I scared me I’ll just keep testing all night if I have to

He isn’t going to do that. He is at +5 now so he doesn’t have a long time to go before he starts going up on his own. Test at 11:30 and see where he is.

No. That is a perfectly safe number. And that drop is hardly anything. It’s within the meter variance and that means he is considered stable.
 
Give a spoon of LC if he is interested. If not don’t worry. Test at 12:30 if you can stay up. I only say that because I know you will not be satisfied until he is in rising numbers. I don’t think he will drop down at this point.

Alright and now I need to learn to be ok with these numbers I won’t give him any dry food If he’s number is lower I’ll feed him so LC in the AMPS how low can he be to be safe to shoot?
 
When I was worried I would set an alarm to wake me up to do a test on my boy. I did this all the time. The things we do for our babies!

Well tonight you just shot a 124! And Corky was having a great cycle with a safe dark green in there. So I doubt if he will be lower than that in the morning. It really does take some getting used to - the green numbers! Our heads know they’re good, but our hearts tell us to be afraid that something bad will happen.

Hi Maria. I’m sorry to see that you stayed up all night with Corky. You must be so tired today. I hope that you can see that you didn’t need to stay up all night and that he was flat all night for the hours you tested him — 111, 109, 108, 106! Flat as a pancake. I just hate to see you staying up all night when it’s not necessary. But it is all a learning experience and you sure are a trooper!

I see that Corky had a nice blue start this morning.

Hi just got back from the Dr's office, I needed to make sure he was going to be ok before I would fall asleep gladly my body does not need more than 6-7 at most of sleep, It felt good to take him where he left off last night and I did not panic I took it hour by hour, he might just have another evening of lows, but I am ready thanks to you:bighug::bighug::bighug:;):cat::cat:

Strange numbers today. 172 then 122 then back up to 172. Did you give him MC or ham or what? I’m just studying the numbers and trying to figure them out.

NOPE! he ate his regular LC pate, nothing more not even their ham snack, and more of a confusing surprise I just tested and BG is 276????????????

Do you know how to go into the cells from last night and color code them blue? You use the”fill color” icon at the top of the spreadsheet.

or you could just take out the @hours and they will automatically color code blue.
 
Maria, there is some aspect of Corky’s number that just doesn’t make sense. I know we have talked about it before, but do you think you can copy a photo of the can you are feeding Corky - the Fancy Feast florentine light broth stuff? It is so conf because FF has several of these similar varieties.
 
Here is how I copy and paste a photo into a thread. I take a photo with my phone. I touch the photo. Then I touch the little icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like a box with an upward arrow. Then I touch Copy Photo. ThenI go to the thread and touch in the box and select paste. This is on an iPhone.
 
Also, won’t Corky eat FF classic pate chicken feast, or any of the other ones that have the word “classic” on them? Those are low carb.

all the FF food I buy have either 0- or no more than 3 % in Carbs, I have the list on ,my phone and refer only to those low carbs and they are all classic pate on the label
