Good morning,
Well Ivy seems to feel much better today. Ate her breakfast nicely on her own. Yay. Ate last night dinner and snacks on her own. Yay.
Poops are almost back to normal now. Yay.
That was a rough 2 days. If only she were more chill and didn’t bring all of this on herself due to her crazy girl temperament :banghead:

Past day was pretty flat yellow with a few pink spikes and a few blues on the Libre. Could mean an active day today. We shall see as she gets her system back to a semblance of normalcy.
Wishing you all a calm day with safe surfing :)

Good morning Staci,
So glad to hear that Ivy's feeling better!
Good AMPS today. Hope she gives you a series of nice dark greens!
Let's go Ivy! Get down to beach where Nestle is waiting for us.
Mikan is a bit far out right now but she sure will try!
Have a lovely day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Be a good girl and surf safely Ivy. You and your mom don't need anymore craziness right now.

Staci what phosphorous binder do you use and do you give anything for the neuropathy?
Hi Heather, I’ve been giving Thriving Pets binder for years. However, a while ago they were out of it so I stocked up on RX Vitamins for Pets brand. When my current tub is gone (very soon) I’m gonna dig into that supply since it’s just sitting there. The dosing is close, so I think I should be ok. (Paws crossed)
I’ve been using Zobaline for neuropathy for about a year to no avail. (But her bg was so bad that I imagine that’s why it did nothing).
I recently switched to Vitacost B12 and am adding Folate (which is in the Zobaline). So will see how we do with that (much cheaper). I think that bg has to be better if it’s gonna help, from what I’ve read.
Does Shooter also have neuropathy?
I hope this helps!

Hi Kit, I know, that was a scary ride with not wanting to eat. Always a huge fear. Such a dire piece of this puzzle.
Hoping she gets back to business now that the nasty meds have cleared her system. She seems much happier again. Giving cuddles and purrs for Mom again. :)
I hope the girls can have a beach day with their hunky bf, Nestle.
Have a great day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am glad she is feeling better. That vet visit must have really stressed her out, poor baby. I hope you two have a good day, Staci.
Staci, your link for yesterday's post in the first message does not work. Here it is: 3/20 Ivy Amps 400, +2 361, +4.75 213, +6 225, +9.5 177, Pmps 356, +3 214
Thanks for letting me know, Cecile! Think I just fixed the link at the top of post as well just for ease of reading.
She’s definitely feeling better. Very thankful.
Hope you have a nice day, too :bighug::bighug:

Good meowning Staci and Ivy!
Happy to hear your sweet girl is feeling better and is back to normal with her eating. And to see that nice sunny start is also good. I think she'll be busy today and hopefully makes her way down to the beach to join Mikan. Tell her to grab Nestle with her on her way down.
Wishing you both a nice and peaceful Thursday.

Afternoon Staci, I'm so happy to hear that Ivy has been eating in her own and feels better today and giving you cuddles and purrs that's a great sign :cat: No e to see those blues this morning. I hope you'll see some dark green today :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Yes, the vet said he had severe arthritis and neuropathy (that was before the bloodwork came back with acro), so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I still have a lot of reading up on it to do. I had them give him a B-12 injection when I was in there 2 weeks ago and have been giving an oral B-12 powder mixed into food. I showed it to her when I was in there with Pepper yesterday. It's Monoherb Methyl B-12 5000 mcg and she was like "Wow! That's like a horse dose!" I told her I was dividing it between Shooter and Pepper but she said they only suggest 250mcg/day not 2,500! lol I don't want to waste it though so I'm just doing a tiny sprinkle on each meal.

Hi Heather, I was told they just pee out what they don’t need with the b12. So it sounds like it should be ok. Poor baby with severe arthritis and neuropathy. Does he get around?

Hi Karolina, Ivy is probably saving her deep dive for tonight since we are having dinner out. Just to give me stress. I’m home all day but no…..she’s gonna wait.
But I’ll be 5 minutes from home so I can always race home if an issue and will be back before onset. Sigh.
I hope you and Nestle are having a nice day at the beach. I see Mikan raced there earlier!
Enjoy the rest of your day with your sweet babies :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Diane, it is a relief to have her eating and doing her “normal” stuff. She’s lounging in my room in a sunny chair.
Hope you are enjoying this sunny day, but it’s cold. Brrrrr.
Have a nice night ahead :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Staci! I am so glad Ivy is feeling better and back to her old self! I know you are so relieved.
Hope the rest of your day is quiet and safe!
Thanks, Deb. Such a huge relief for her norm. Wishing you a calm day. I was sorry to hear the sensor was knocked off of Tiger.
Hope he’s doing well! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Stacy, I hope Ivy surfs safely for you tonight so you can enjoy your dinner out! You make me laugh, thinking she will drop because you are going out to dinner LOL! I am also relieved to read she is feeling better, nothing worse than what you have been through the past few days! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: Behave Ivy!

Hi Ruth, glad to provide some light reading and entertainment :)
It’s true about her knowing I’m going out. She inevitably decides to dip lower on the few times I need to go out. It’s somehow like she KNOWS!
Weird, right?
Thank goodness she is feeling much better. It’s so hard to see them feel so poorly.
Very glad she’s back to her cuddly self.
Hope you have a great Weekend ahead! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Yes he does but he walks on all 4 hocks quite a bit. He lays around a lot too. Although I do see a little improvement even after just his first shot of Solensia.
My Bailie has osteoarthritis and neuropathy he’s walking on all 4 hocks and is having a hard time getting around sleeping most of the day eating well though but I’m worried such he’s still not regulated . I hope he will get a little better when he’s regulated . I’m so worried. he was on solensia for a year. But then I saw the group solensia killed my cat. And reading all the stories scared the daylights out of me. I know he really needs it. How was yours doing on the Solensia ?

Ya I saw that as well but I read far more good testimonies than bad. I just have to tell myself he is 17. If this is what takes him I still know I did all I could to give him better quality of life. He has only had 1 shot so far. He is due again the beginning of April.

How is the neuropathy?

I’m sure he’ll do fine on it. My Bailey was on it for over a year. And he had no ill effects from it. But since then I’ve read that stupid Facebook group I’ve talked to my vet about it and she tells me she’s never ever had an issue with any of the cat she had given it to.

She said he has severe neuropathy so right now I am trying a high dose of B12 Methyl cobalamin to see if that helps.
@Diane Tyler's Mom the zobaline has folic acid in it too. Is this something I should be adding as well?

https://www.vitacost.com/vitacost-vitamin-b-12-methylcobalamin-5000-mcg-60-capsules-5
If you are asking about the Vitacost brand
Vitamin B-12 Methylcobalamin -- 5000 mcg - 100 Capsules

Same as Zobaline , but the Zobaline is so expensive as you know
This is the same thing
The only difference is the Zobaline has 200 mcgs of folic acid
So I bought the folic acid at the supermarket and crush it up and added it to the Vitacost brand
If you can't find the 200 mcg get the 400 mcg and cut it in half and crush it up and add it
The Vitacost brand is a capsule so just open it and pour the powder on the wet food
Has no taste, no need to crush it up
The Zobaline is 33.99 for 60 pills, too expensive
I saw a big improvement I'd say 2 months, could be sooner. One capsule a day. Every 2 weeks or so I did see an improvement
Always add some water to the wet food and mix everything up good
