Increase dose?

On 3/9, Pumpkin's numbers fell below 80, so was reduced by .25. But, 10 days later now and we are back up into the mid 300's at the high point. Should the dose be increased back to 1 unit?
 
It does look as if you could go back up in dose, however I would get a few tests for the pm cycles for a couple of days, to check for Pumpkin is not dropping lower overnight.
Do you check for ketones?

No I don't check for ketones. I know when he's been checked at the vet, he's had none. And, hasn't lost weight in months.

I don't test him in the middle of the night of course, but he tends to be highest by morning when we wake up. And lowest in the afternoon/evening.
 
It’s always a good idea to check an unregulated cat for ketones if you can. All you need is a bottle of Ketostix from a pharmacy or Walmart.

You need to get a urine specimen from Pumpkin and then dip the test strip into the urine and read it exactly 15 seconds afterwards against the colours on the bottle. Hopefully there will be no ketones but if there is more than a trace I would tell the vet and I would also tell us even if there is a trace as you may need to adjust the insulin dose and the food amount.
