3/17 Shooter AMPS 254 - dose increase

Was Shooter tested for IAA at the same time as the test for IGF-1? The IAA test is also done at MSU and IAA is another cause for what I called "the dose going stale". But I did tend to wait for six cycles after a green to see if Neko would get back to green, before I increased/

One other thing I didn't mention on dosing, typically the increases are by larger amounts. I think 0.25 was appropriate at this time. But over 5 units total and you aren't seeing low blues or green nadirs, I would go to 0.5 unit increases.

Is it just going to be a slow continue upward with insulin?
ECID and each acrocat is even more different. It depends on if the acro tumour is pulsing or ebbing. And any treatment given will make a big difference. But I've seen all ranges of reaction. Some top up under 10, some 20, and I've seen one cat (untreated) get up to 55 units then slowly work her way down to being OTJ. It's really too hard to predict. Neko got up to 8.75 units (also had IAA), got treated, got down to 0.75 units, slowly worked her way back up to 7 units as the tumour came back 3 years later, got second treatment, got back down to 0.25 units before her other conditions (heart/kidneys etc) became too much.

No he wasn't. The vet never mentioned that one. If you think I should get it done, I will. I feel like my next step at this point is an echocardiogram though. Thoughts?

Hmmm... pulsing and ebbing. Is that why sometimes it seems like he lowers quickly and other times seems resistant?

Holy smokes! And I thought over 5 was a lot! lol

Seen some on even higher doses, though more than 30'ish is much less common.

I don't think the tumour changes from pulsing to ebbing quickly, more like over longer periods of time. But it does mean it's less predictable.

If you didn't get IAA testing done, don't worry about it. I agree an echo may be higher priority, and cabergoline if you are going to do it.
