Good morning,

Amps 119 (Libre)
Now at +15 93 on Libre
Looks like a very active morning already :coffee::coffee:
;)
Yesterday was kind of a wild ride with the Libre giving some very low readings in the morning. Then it failed early afternoon and had to be replaced. Very frustrating. :banghead:
I did get several blood tests during that time to see what was going on. She must have been truly low because after the new sensor was put on later in the afternoon she shot up to red and lingered there for several hours until coming back down. And, water drinking increased greatly during that time so it all looked legit what was going on.

Hoping today is a very calm and boring day. Planning a nice long walk later this morning to get outdoors.
Headed out to dinner tonight. Will feed 12.5% to keep her higher while I’m out (hoping, always).
Hope you all have a safe and enjoyable Caturday :cat:

Another fantastic start of the day! :)
Hope Ivy surfs steadily and you get to enjoy the weekend ;)
Awesome job getting some BGs with the handheld!

Have a great day, Staci and Ivy :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Morning Staci, looks like Ivy is off and running this morning already.
Slow it down some Miss Ivy.
What a nice start this morning .
I hope you can get out for a walk today and Ivy behaves, :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Hi Kit, boy was she pissed off at me yesterday. So much poking and a shave and poke to apply the Libre. She hates the shaver and the poking. Poor baby.
She’s happier today with me leaving her in her comfy bed not bothering her every 5 minutes. I can’t blame her. ;)
I hope you are having a nice day, too. Safe surfing for Mikan :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Diane, she was in a big hurry this morning, wasn’t she? Hoping she just surfs nicely today and tonight.
Hope you’re having a nice weekend as well :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hope you both have a safe and peaceful day/weekend!

What a lovely start - I hope she continues with her surf through the greens. :bighug:
And enjoy the walk! I mostly enjoy the outdoors, except when the plants are making whoopee and causing my allergies to go wild.

Hi Alicia, she’s been surfing along nicely today. Yay.
It was a beautiful day for a walk. Luckily I don’t have allergies so those plants don’t bother me.
But I can see if you do how that would not be so much fun.
Hope you are all having a nice day in your area. We are having a gorgeous day with sunny blue skies. Makes me so happy to see the sun!

What a beautiful day Miss Ivy!! Keep up the good work!! Enjoy your walk and dinner Staci!

Hi Staci :)
Going out for a long walk sounds delicious. Has spring already arrived? Here we had a gorgeous spring day. It was literally alternating every half an hour between sun and rain and the colours and scents are so nourishing.
I hope Ivy is not too angry with you poking her. I know how prickly she can get with handled meter. Well done on handling a very active day.

I wish you a very boring Caturday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, it was a beautiful sunny day. Love it. Your day sounds like Spring has definitely sprung. How lovely. Our walk was so pleasant. We try to do it every Saturday. We only miss a few each year in very frigid or extremely rainy days.

Ivy is recovering today in her bed snoozing, being very lazy. I tried to leave her alone today since she did so much poking yesterday. I think she’s enjoying being quiet and by herself today.
Although, last night she followed me up to bed and slept in her favorite pink chair. She has not tried to jump up on our bed (which is high) since she broke her leg last May. Sadly she got caught in the bed frame and broke her leg. It was absolutely horrible. I think she has ptsd. I can’t blame her.
I even have pet steps next to my bed for her. She only uses it as a scratching post. She won’t climb on them. Silly girl.
The choice is hers. I don’t want to force her to do anything she’s not happy doing.
I hope you are having a boring and relaxing evening. Sleep well :bighug::bighug::bighug:

At +10 she hit Lo on Libre then it may have jumped up. When I tested with the Contour handheld it was 177 (which I think was more aligned with a 48 the Libre then read).
She’s really lingering in lower numbers for her lately. :)

Now she just needs to hold it together for a few hours tonight on medium carbs so I can go out and not be completely worried. ;)

Well at Pmps she was Lo on Libre. Tried to blood test her but she was not having it. Stalled 15 minutes and she rose to 51 on Libre so she should be fine. Just a very low number for me to shoot , even on Libre. (Which on Contour will be over 100).
Giving her the shot was not easy. My son had to hold her still so I could shoot. It was a battle.:banghead:
When trying to test her I came out with numerous scratches (all fine, none too deep). She’s a fighter though. She doesn’t like the stalling and knew something was up. Heading out to dinner now. I need a glass of wine. :blackeye:

Maybe Ivy should be nicknamed Holly since she scratches. ;)

I think the battle scars are at worth at least two glasses of wine! :D

48 on the Libre was 177 on the Contour? Yikes. We have to come up with a different plan because she’s churning out all these LOs on the Libre and, for yesterday, we don’t know what they are. All the ones today, that I can see, she didn’t drop below 40. But did she yesterday which concerns me if she needs a reduction?

I’ve been working with another member (PZ) insulin and she said the RVC in the UK said LO on a Libre is 40. Have you heard that? What does it read if she’s lower than 40?

When I’ve tester her in the 40s on the Libre, she’s higher on the Contour.
She will drop from 50s to 40s then to Lo (that’s the lowest reading on the Libre and it’s a catch all for under 40).

Hi Staci
Looks like Ivy had had quite the cycle today.
I'm happy you were still able to get away for your walk and dinner date. And hopefully those glasses of wine helped with the battle scars.

Have a good night meow and surf safely sweet girl.

When I’ve tester her in the 40s on the Libre, she’s higher on the Contour.
Right, I understand this. But LO on the Libre can be anything below 40, correct? There were three LOs yesterday with no C test so what if that BG was 30?

I’m confused as to why on some tests with the Libre, you have LO and no BG but others you have a BG (like PMPS tonight) with the LO. I think what is perhaps missing is, at +10, a.m. cycle, for example, the LO was at one time and the 48 at some time later? If it’s 15 mins or more, it would be helpful to have those times such as LO at +10, 48L=177 C @+10.5 or whatever the time is.

So at Pmps on 3/16 there was no blood test. The meter read Lo (she wouldn’t let me test her) then I waited 15 minutes and it read 51, I then gave her shot (no blood test)

On 3/15 in am, sensor stoped reading on and off with intermittent Lo readings. (Eventually sensor failed around +7).
I took ear pricks when I could (when she was letting me). But also, someone who only uses a handheld device may not be ear pricking constantly (every 15?min over 5 hours) if when they do, they get numbers not critically low.
I got an 87 as the lowest, so I wasn’t panicked (and wasn’t able) to test again (as it was I poked her 5x on 3/15 and she was done with me).
If she stays in Lo range over many hours, there’s no way I can poke her every 15 minutes. Just as a handheld user. If they get numbers in 80s, they wouldn’t keep poking in that range.
I’m not sure what else to do (this is a new problem since she’s not stayed in these ranges before).
(I need that shrug emoji here). o_O

Poor thing. It sounds painful to get stuck like that and break a leg.
It sounds like she's traumatised from that. Fistuk fell so many times in trying to jump up the bed that he doesn't try any more.
Silly little sweet one, using it for scratching :p a cat being a cat.

I'm happy you got to enjoy your walk. I will make an effort to leave the house today even though it's depressingly grey outside.
Have a wonderful weekend :bighug::bighug::bighug:
