Edit: Oliver never been in green especially for this long. Do I shoot if he stays in green for PMPS? I usually am awake until +5 or +6 so I am able to monitor him closely with the Libre3.

Is he bouncing overnight and then clearing the bounce during the day? Is this normal? I'm trying to figure out if his cat food is okay. It is a complete balanced wet food and it's at 7% on the catinfo website. Is this what is causing his bounce even though it doesn't happen during the day? Maybe I shouldn't give him snacks after PMPS. He gets one ounce of wet food at +3 and then at +6 he gets freeze dried snacks. I just don't understand how the body reacts differently overnight then it does during the day. He is not active so that shouldn't effect it. Should I just increase his dose on the PMPS?

It’s quite common for the day and night cycles to be different although more often they are lower at night.if still a bounce it should clear after 6 cycles. It might just be that he needs more juice. We should know soon.

Unless you think he’s going low at night which I don’t see right now, feeding in the second half of the cycle can shorten the duration of the insulin. I would not give a snack after +6 at night at this point.

Hoping this bumps my thread.
I’m not sure who is around to give you some advice but I tagged some experienced and very knowledgeable advisors to get some help.
It seems Oliver saw some green and blues so I wouldn’t think he needs an increase.
Do you feel comfortable shooting his dose? With TR you don’t want to shoot anything under 50 but he’s somewhere around 100 PMPS. Are you able to monitor if you give a shot?

Yes I usually am awake until +5 or +6. I've never shot with something below 100 so I don't know what to do.

Well he hasn’t earned a reduction since he’s not under 50. You could either give his full dose or if you feel bit up to that give a reduced dose. Say 3 units(but it will mess with his depot). And he will likely bounce higher.
It’s up to how you feel. what do you think?

DH just fed him and gave him full dose 4units fingers crossed!!

Ok. Good job DH. Now make sure you watch the Libre and see if he’s going up or down. I would make sure he gets a small snack at +1,2,3 (say 1-2 tsp of his food) to make sure he’s not dropping.

He usually gets 1 ounce wet food at +3. I can give him some more earlier if he needs it. I'll keep a close eye on the libre. This would actually be great news if he just coasted

I would feed him a teaspoon or 2 at 1,2,3 just since he’s so low. Give low carbs (unless he’s dropping). That can help him coast along. Especially as the insulin is kicking in. That’s what I do. I feed a small amount at +1,2,3 both cycles, which I think helps keep some carbs on board.

Ivy seems to start diving between +2&3 without a little bit of carbs.

@Staci & Ivy Ill update the spreadsheet every 30 minutes until Im not scared anymore.
Please do! And post updates here. I’ll try to check back as long as I don’t have my own craziness going on with Ivy. I’m actually expecting a drop from her tonight because she’s been flat yellow all day and that usually means she’s gonna have an active cycle, I’m preparing… ;)

I’m very proud of you, you handled everything really well and you did the right thing by reaching out and asking for help and making sure you got it. That was exactly what you should be doing when you are unsure great work, both you and DH!! :bighug::bighug:

Okay will do!! He is still eating right now and 730pm est would be +1 so I will give him a little bit of his LC wet food at +2 and then he will get his normal snack of 1 ounce at +3. +3 is when he starts to drop

I will keep posting here until I go to sleep. Thanks for your help and your kind words. I was a little weepy eyed with fear. It's comforting to know that someone is usually here to help. Will keep everyone posted.

Well since he’s just eating now (it’s not +1 since you stalled). An hour from now will be +1 and so on through the cycle.
You can move his feed and shot back in the morning and again tomorrow night each by 15 minutes to work your way back to your regular schedule. (It will take you 2 days to get back on your regular schedule by 15 minute increments).
If you shout an hour early tomorrow morning (your normal time), it could be like an increase since technically it will be early (from the stall). Make sense?

Believe me when I tell you I’ve been in your shoes. And major tears. So I get it. And you’re lucky your husband is in it with you. That helps!! (Mine is usually not home when I have to make these decisions alone). :bighug::bighug::bighug:

And remember you also have the benefit of the Libre so you actually know what’s going on at all times. Hopefully he will coast along in beautiful numbers this Evening.

Let me see if I understand. You stalled an hour and shot the full dose . Is that correct? Get a +1 and a +2. Add to your subject.

You’re welcome. I know how scary it is the first few times you shoot green. I’m Elise. I adopted Max, my diabetic cat, and Tiffany together. That’s where tiff maxee came from.
