I'm thought he was still bouncing but then he had that big drop. Is this normal? Should I be concerned. He did have an ounce of wet food at +3. No change in his behavior.
Question about dosing. I only started TR on 3/9 pm. The other numbers before that are based off his Libre graphs and a good gestimate. When would I make a dose adjustment?

That’s totally normal. You will see drops until nadir, lowest point in the cycle, and the either coasting or a rise back up by the next shot. Feeding snacks of regular food will help level out the curve. This is a nice cycle. The bounce cleared quickly. That’s a good sign. You both are doing great.

Cats are so different than dogs or people. It’s frustrating because just when you think you know what they will do they change things to confuse us. But they can become food controlled which is a big plus!

I would love it if Oliver became food controlled. I don’t have high hopes since I adopted him because he was diabetic and am not sure how long he was not controlled. It’s been at least a year so I know it’s an uphill battle.
Do you know what the formula is for how many calories a cat should be eating. I think he’s at an ideal weight but he is still pretty ravenous and I don’t want to over feed him. Thanks again!! @tiffmaxee

Afternoon Jennifer
They say
A good rule of thumb is 20x ideal weighweigh
For Example
So if his ideal weight is 10 lbs
10 x 20 = 200 calories

Don't get discouraged , it took me 2 years and 4 months to get Tyler into remission. Oliver is having a great cycle so far
I remember in another post you said you had the Prodigy meter but the test strips were expired .
As a back up you can get the Freestyle Lite meter
The test strip requires only a 0.3 microliter of blood for accurate results.
See who has the cheapest price for the test strips
@Jennifer & Oliver

Or
The easy-to-use ReliOn Premier Test Strips require no coding and just a small 0.5 microliter blood sample. With just a five-second test time, these test strips ...
Relion Premier Classic Meter at Walmart for 9 dollars

The tests strips are 17.88 for 100

At least if you need more test strips you can run into Walmart and pick them up or if you're running low you can just order them from Walmart

Hi Jennifer, you’re doing great and Oliver looks like he’s having a great cycle today! Yay.

I’ve found that when I have a question, it’s best to use the question mark in your header title (drop down) and you can put something like “dose advice?” Or a very brief summary of what you need so someone can get you an answer more quickly and easily.
There’s so much to learn here. But you’re really getting up to speed so quickly. And of course Oliver will benefit!
Hope you both have a nice night and a great cycle :bighug::cat::bighug:

look on catinfo.org. For the formula. I’m can’t remember.
If increase to ight or tomorrow morning since you have switched to TR. You will hold at least 3 days on the new dose. If you see green it would be 5 days.

That's the part I am confused about. On my SS the first 8 days were done off the Libre graph so they were guesstimates. I have not yet increased his dose and am not sure when I would do that. Would I wait five days since the 97 the other day? Thanks

Since they were all guesses, give it a couple more cycles to see if you see green. He has been on 4.0 for quite a while so I would not wait too long, especially if the bg trends higher.

Sounds good to me. I'll wait until Wed and if he has no greens go up 0.25u. Thanks so much for answering my questions
