Yesterday 3/8 KARAMELLE AMPS 234 +5 133 +9 95 PMPS 55 20m later 87 +1 109 +2 97 +3 76 +4 100 | Feline Diabetes Message Board - FDMB
We had a bit of a rough day yesterday. She just doesnt want to eat much when her numbers go down so I was trying all different foods and ended up syringe feeding some as well. Hopefully it wont bounce back up into pink again. Her appetite was better this morning but she was in yellow so that makes sense. Still she only ate about 1/3 can of Fancy feast. I will make sure she gets more food today.
Im going out tonight, leaving right after her shot at 7:45pm, or thats the plan. I'll probably test more today so i can catch any drops earlier. Although yesterday the drop didnt happen until PMPS or maybe right before. I absolutely cannot cancel my plans so if she drops again, what would be the best thing to do? Skip the shot, or give less? Is 55 even a concern? I was afraid it would go down further if I didnt do something. And I wont be here to monitor that tonight. I wont be home until after midnight probably.
 
If you can test her a few times this afternoon, so you can see whoch way she is going, that might help. If she is low but on the way up, that's less of a concern.
How long will you be gone for? Will she eat if you leave food?
Normally with TR you can shoot all the way down to 50, but you don't have a long time with data yet, so maybe better to either skip or give a token dose if she's low tongight, but I am going to tag more experienced members to have their advice :-)

I will probably be gone for about 5 hours. from 7:45pm - maybe around midnight. Not sure, could be later. Im going to see Madonna.
I can leave food. But I do have other cats. i will leave some in the areas where i feed her tho. The cats seem to stick to their own areas for the most part.
 
Can you leave Karamelle in a room by herself with food? You can always leave medium carb food out if you want to make sure and give her a little boost.

If nothing else, I'd get a +10 or so and see how her numbers are trending into PMPS. It's possible she'll bounce and be perfectly safe tonight.

So far her numbers seem to be where they were at yesterday at this time. I will do a +8 and a +10 and see how it goes. I unfortunately dont have an extra room to put her in. Shes eating better today and also eating her raw nuggets so thats good. Ive been putting the rabbit bites on top of the hydrated nugget and she seems to like that. I will leave some various canned foods out when Im gone. I dont think Ive ever bought the higher carb foods. I need to do that. I think she'll be ok. Thinking positively.

Im really looking forward to it, but its so stressful because I rarely go out these days and having to wait till 7:45 to just leave the house is crazy. Im already tired, and its only 6pm. Ive been to quite a few of her shows. I have a friend who played guitar for her for many years. He even taught her how to play. He plays with a metal band now so I rarely see him. I hate metal, lol.
It looks like Karamelle will be ok. her +10 is 206 and shes eaten really well today.
