Can someone help me make sense of Koles bg #'s? I increased his dose to 4.50 and his numbers seem to rise with the higher dose but do eventually come down a little bit.
Thanks for the information! I really don't think I could get him off the kibble with the 6 others that roam sadly. I have increased the amount of wet feeds in hopes that he stays out of the kibble. I've also included the freeze dried treats as well so he really isn't hanging out at the kibble dish as much. On a good note pmps was 229.Hi Sandy. Me again (from the FB group)
I don't really consider the 17 he got today to be any higher....I mean it's just barely in the pink and with the variance meters are allowed, he pretty much had a flat cycle.
Some cats just need more than others. There's nothing really wrong with him being on 4.5. They need what they need.
If he does end up going over 6U, we'll recommend having him tested for acromegaly and IAA. There's all kinds of information in the Sticky's on the Acro/IAA forum
Since I said it in the group, I'm going to repeat it here. Do you think he could live without the Dr. Elsey's kibble so you could do Tight Regulation? It would allow you to be more aggressive with his dosing and (hopefully) hit a "breakthrough" dose soon(er)
I'll also tag @Wendy&Neko and see if she's got any sage advice for you.
Oh okay thank you! Sorry about not including the said information. I'm kind of new here and trying to remember everything on top of treating Kole has been overwhelming. I'll try to remember for the next time and I'm sure there will be many more next times.Sorry, just stumbled on this thread. I did not get the tag.
It's not uncommon to see increased the numbers the first few cycles after an increase. We call it New Dose Wonkiness or NDW. More about it in this post: New Dose Wonkiness (NDW) and failed reductions Hopefully NDW is done now and you should see how this new dose can do.

We ask that people include those links so it's easy to go back and see what was said previously. And don't forget to put "Kole" in the subject line so we know who it's about. Thank you.![]()
