Hi Xelo, I switched Bandit from Lantus to Levemir many years ago. When switching between the L insulins, I think you switch at a dose that is 70% of the previous insulin dose. So if Sinver's current dose is 1.75U, you would switch to Levemir at 1.25U. I'm going to tag @Wendy&Neko in case I am not right!

The onset and nadir will be later for Levemir as compared to Lantus, so it will starting from scratch in learning how Sinver behaves on Levemir. :-)

:)[/CITA]
Thank you for answering, I am nervous just thinking about it, I will have less hours at home to be able to measure him because I start working at the hospital ... the guidelines are similar between one and the other?

Bhooma is right, you start at the 70% dose, in case he's one of those cats that react strongly to the switch. The reduction is for safety. Most cats end up on a Levemir dose that is pretty similar to the Lantus dose.

Some Levemir cats, like mine, nadired close to preshot time. Which was very convenient because I was always home then. But it does mean you have to get used to shooting lower numbers.

I have the vet's prescription at home already ... but the problem is that now my situation in life is going to change because I am going to work and I have to look very well what will be the schedule that I will be able to understand it as much as possible.
