Good morning everyone!:bighug:
Yesterday was the first full day on a new dose for Sebastian (0.75)
I think he is responding great, he was very playful yesterday he his recovering his energy:cat:, today he has 158 at preshot. Should I wait and see if his BG is going up to shoot?

Hi Lila, sorry no one got back to you earlier :(
It looks like you gave the reduced shot today, is that correct?

When you need fast help I think it’s best to put something in your headline like “Dose help needed” or “do I shoot?”
along with using the? Like you did.
That will get some attention. You want to make sure nobody misses a request for help :)

In the future, if you can monitor, you want to give the full shot. A preshot over 150 is safe enough to shoot. In fact, with time and experience you can shoot any number over 90 when following SLGS. Lantus gives very flat cycles when you shoot low. Also, a preshot is not an indicator of how a cycle will play out. You can have a preshot in the 300s and still go down to below 100 (like you saw on 2/19) and have a lower preshot and a pretty flat cycle! Some cats have a tendency to nadir at the end of the cycle - especially when clearing a bounce - those caregivers have to get used to shooting low.

Don't worry I know everyone's busy
I gave a smaller dose, I didn't feel comfortable with the number but I didn't consider it to be so low to skip the shot o_O
Great instincts, you’re doing Great :)
I know it’s all new to you and there’s so much to learn. Keep asking questions!!!
Wishing you a safe cycle for Sebastian :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks for the advice, since I don't have much experience I get a little nervous with the numbers. I'll keep it in mind, at night it is recommended to give him his usual dose, right?

Yes. It can be scary to shoot lower numbers at first, but once you start doing so, you will realize that it's not different from shooting higher numbers :-)

Yes, unless he drops below 90 and earns a reduction.

Did you get any tests after the shot? Is it time for +2 yet?

Yes I need to get used to shoot at lower numbers

Yes +2 - 251
I hadn't updated the SS because I was in a meeting but apparently it was a fur shot since I smelled the characteristic odor of Lantus in his fur
