Yesterday's thread

Apparently she decided to respond to the threat of an increase pretty strongly. So, uh, no increase today. I am pretty sure I can move my +4.5 meeting to zoom if need be. My +5 meeting is to grade for my co-taught class, so that's a little harder, but we'll work it out. But I have to be on campus by +6.5 or 7 to help install projectors in a new space. We'll see how she is and then maybe she just gets lots of HC left out for the afternoon to keep her going.

Kit cat decided it was time to flex her muscles!
Pretty kitty with big ears. You asked for her to listen, and she sure did. Kit said no to an increase. :D:D
She got what she wanted. Holding the line.
Safe surf today pretty girl. Hope you have a good day as well, Alicia:bighug::cat::bighug:

She mostly certainly said no thanks with a might flex. Maybe she thought I couldn't understand subtlety?

Great job getting through the CODE LIME. ;)
Girls sure loves gravy juice
She is coasting nicely now!
She does love those gravies. She didn't go super high tonight following that lime so far, so that's nice. I was also a little worried she'd be higher because I let a fair amount of 7% out when I went to work. But she did good!

Questions for those who use adequan.

The membrane seems thicker on the vial of liquid, and I've been using the insulin syringes. It seems like it dulls the syringe tip more than the membrane for the Lantus pen - she definitely jumps more on the adequan shot than the insulin shot. Is there a different syringe I should be using? Have I been doing it all wrong?

The box also says to use the vial within 28 days of first puncture, and to puncture no more than 10 times. That definitely wouldn't use both vials (there are 2 5mL bottles), and based on the dosing schedule, I would only get 6 punctures in the first bottle before it's not usable anymore. Is that correct? I know the pharmacy will say insulin is only good for 28 days, but we know it works longer. Is this another case of that?

Going to tag @cecile & bella

My vet said it’s fine to keep it for several months, I did not know it said 28 days.
I use the same syringes than for the insulin. The vet gave me ones with a bigger needle but I prefer to use the insulin ones, I did not have issues puncturing the vial except once, the needle was bent. Bella does not seem to care, she even let me do it when she’s not eating without saying anything. I do it between her shoulder blades.

Thanks so much for the info - it seemed like such a short amount of time for as much liquid as it is. I'm not sure why my syringes seem to dull some - I may check with her vet for other options just to see what options there are.
