???!! Help /PMPS dose???

OK! I need you guys right now, Corky's BG 115, is 1/2 hour before PMPS dosing, what do I do if it's less than 150 not dose, give Cabs, lower dose?????:banghead: here we go again I jinxed him
 
Hi Maria! I see in the last few evenings that you have shot a 135 PMPS and a 142 both with.75 units. What did you decide tonight?

I shot the .75 and prayed, since he has had quite a few greens, I panicked, just tested him he is at 211., always right after eating and dosing he is high at 8PM then goes right back into the 100's, I am really intrigued with so many many lows, this is really good right? how I wish he could get in remission, thanks for answering as always, I jiust followed my instincts and the knowledge you have instituted in my brain

Yes… when in doubt, look back over what you have shot in the past and what the results were. So in very recent nights within the last week, you shot lower than tonight.
 
Hi Maria. I see that you skipped tonight’s shot. Since you did, there was no need to also give him medium and high carb food. Since he is already going to rise up without insulin, you don’t need to add to that with medium and high carb food, okay? Did you have a high anxiety day? Corky is doing well. At least don’t worry about him (even though you have other worries.)
 
Next time you are in doubt about shooting, try stalling. What you do is Do Not Feed Corky and wait another 30 minutes to one hour to retest him and see if he is already rising at the end of the cycle as the insulin wears off. It will put you behind schedule a little bit, but it is an option. Also, tonight with the 116 PMPS, you could have considered a small dose of ProZinc. He is at 75 units, so you could have considered a .25 unit dose.

Thanks for that information because when I got him out of the hospital, I was told that it was important to give him the insulin immediately after eating, and if he didn't eat I could not dose him either, so It's good to know I have a 1/2 window to continue testing, and you are so right about the high's, I hope that by not dosing last night will throw off gear how good he has been

Well, the idea is that you do NOT feed the cat while you are waiting to see if the BG is rising. Once the cat has eaten, there is no point in testing them to get a second preshot test to see if BG is high enough to shoot— because the BG will of course be higher because of the food. So the cat has to wait a little longer for breakfast or dinner! Then you retest.

thank you for this information and how to look up previous post, Corky is doing good I posted by impulse on perhaps reducing his dose, I've had no replies. right now for 4:00pm he's 102, if you say that 116 consider a small dose and wait 1/2-1 hour for feeding, I am sorry I ask the same question over and over again when he's BG is in low low numbers before shooting, I need your input again on this BG if it continues to spiral by 6PM I know the ProZinc rule is if under 90,
but check this out I tested him just now, 4:00PM I even had the Karo out, and his BG spiraled up to 282, he was out cold without being fed, PMPS is at 6:00PM this is probably why no one replies to my post when it has to do with this issue I've cried Wolf so many times; this is why I cannot understand what to do and my insecurities about dosing becomes surreal, why this sudden spiral, why does this happens so suddenly when everything is going so well

I did nothing but write a post he was out cold it worried me no food no Karo, nothing I even checked him 4 times in a row and I kept getting different reasings I took the last one but all of them were very sumilar
