Not quite a 911, but someone please check on us in a bit?

We went to the vet today to get Angel vaccinated. She got her shot and her food and then we went to the vet pretty much immediately afterwards. Got home at +2. I should've brought some food along for her... now she's low, I think because she didn't eat at +1.

Fed HC after the +2 59, fed HC + gave honey after the 43. Will test again in 5 minutes.

You are doing fine. Test 20-30 minutes from the last test and switch to a little lc if over 60. Keep Angel hungry in case he goes down again. Congrats on the reduction.

Wrong way, Angel :nailbiting::nailbiting: Can I interest you in some soft bouncy green shoes from the insulin shoe store?

My previous diabetic had a 38 once, on Humulin N I think. He was totally fine. Me not so much  We didn't stay on N or the vet after that.

49, heading back up again:cat:

She's hit 38 before on prozinc, but that's the lowest she's ever gotten.

Do you have hc food? Honey works fast but wears off quickly. Hc food lasts longer.

Yup, feeding HC food as well!

Question... do I immediately start with the new dose (3.25U) or do I skip the next shot to deplete the depot a bit? Or does it depend on what her PMPS will be? I'm pretty beat and don't think I can stay up for 4+ hours after the shot to monitor again. She'll have food available but she's very lethargic right now, the exhaustion of the vet visit plus the lows, and I don't know if she'll get up to eat by herself.

Hi Lisa, what’s your schedule? How long until pmps? I see no answers here to your questions.

I know you would definitely drop down to your reduced dose at the next shot time.
Has she come up through the cycle?
Let’s try to get some help here.

She's 140 now. Has been knocked out on the couch since +7, verrrryyyyy deeply asleep (did not stir when I opened a can for one of my other kitties). It's possible she's reacting a bit to the vaccine from this morning too, some of my other kitties were lethargic for a day or so too after getting vaxxed last month (she was too ill at the time so she had to wait).

Thanks! PMPS is about 20 minutes from now.
Great, I'll be around. It seems like Angel is heading up and will bounce from that stretch in limes .
Can you monitor and do you think she'll eat for you?

I know that after my Cleo had her vaccine last year she was sluggish and off her food for a little over 24 hours.

I don't think I can monitor to be honest. I'm exhausted and was already falling asleep while sitting with her on the couch just now. It's been a very long and stressful day... She just woke up and went to have a pee (no ketones), then trudged back to her sleeping spot. She'll eat if I bring food to her, but she's not seeking it out. I don't know, my gut is telling me to skip. What do you think?

Chances are that Angel will bounce and be safe for tonight. However, cats don't like to be predictable! That PMPS should be a good clue.

I'd hope so, but so far she hasn't bounced much from the greens she's had over the last few days. Granted they weren't limes so she might still bounce, but I'm more concerned with whether she'll eat if she goes low while I'm asleep.

That's pretty flat from the 140.
It's up to you if you feel more comfortable skipping. No judgement from me :bighug:
Is there a history of ketones or DKA?
Should you decide to skip, the depot may still influence the first half of the cycle. I may still get a +14 (if skipping).
