After yesterday's breathtakingly high PMPS she's having a nice morning so far.
She doesn't have a huge appetite, or at least not for the last hour, but is still eating enough.
@Marje and Gracie I saw your information in Jason & Koha's thread about the suspected issue with some commercial pet foods, and have sent the video to basically everyone I know who has a companion animal. I don't think I'm not going to be giving Lu any more Fancy Feast, although I do have some put aside in my hypo kit, and can find something else that's high carb.
Thank you for sharing this info. I had no idea, and very much want to know about stuff like this. It reminds me of when I started giving my cats a raw diet in 1998, because of my cat Mog developing crystals in his urine. The vet's proposed solution, to give him a vet diet that would make him want to drink more, seemed like two wrongs not making a right. I wanted to find out why he was having that problem in the first place. As soon as I switched to a raw diet, he never had crystals again. People thought I was very eccentric to be doing this, at the time, but many changed their minds after the pet food tragedies in the late 2000s. Not that I care what people think, anyway ;-)
So I'm thinking of trying an Adored Beast product, perhaps. Do you have a recommendation of which one? I saw you are using two. I just started Lu on s. boulardii. People seem to use it specifically for digestive/litterbox issues, which Lu doesn't have. She does at times seem to have a rumbly tummy (the FDMB taught me to listen to my cats' tummies, and everybody should become a Tummy Listener
) but I just want to give her some tummy support. Better reinforce her gut biome than give Pepcid/Cerenia to treat a symptom.
And for food, no Fancy Feast. We'll stick with the Nulo pates, low-sodium tuna, chicken puree, and see how that goes.
Best wishes to everyone for a great day! Not too much snow! Kitties staying in the safe, healing zones!

). Anyway, I use a different vet now, also at a clinic believing in raw. I've had three cats in a row get SCL, two were on raw for 3 years before they got it. The latter one not as long, but I adopted her then found out she had IBD, so SCL not so surprising. But thankfully in remission now.
